DS loves his big Mr Potato head, Little People pirate ship and Big Hugs Elmo. I thought he'd be more into the lego duplo blocks he got, but he only likes to dump them out of the box and then fill the box back up.
The train table was a huge hit-- way more than I even expected. He liked the kitchen but wasn't as into it as I thought he might be. For some reason, he became obsessed with the play food meatballs and insisted on putting them in the cargo area of his trains and running them around the table.

Maybe he thinks they make good boulders! My DS did the same thing. I asked him what he was up to and he said "driving rocks".
Both of my boys were entertained by the Hot Wheels T-Rex Takedown playset and a Hungry Hungry Hippos knockoff game I found in the Walmart clearance aisle called Hungry Hungry herd, it is farm animals instead of hippos. Even little brother can push the lever to make the animals eat the marbles, but he does have to be watched really close to make sure he doesn't put them in his mouth. Big Hug Elmo from grandma, epic fail!
DD loved the kitchen from her aunt and the wagon from my grandparents. I really thought she'd love the IKEA tunnel we got for her, but the cat has had way more fun with that than she has! I was really hoping she'd like (or you know... notice...) the doll my parents got her in preparation for the new baby, but no dice.

The trains we gave him to add to his collection win. We didn't purchase many toys as funds are tight but he loves those trains.
A surprise gift was Mr. Potato Head. I didn't realize how much he would like it. He sits and plays with it when he's not busy with his trains.
He also received a lettersaurus...which I hope he will become more interested in soon.

@eyenigh Did you get those track clips? They are totally worth it. Ours never falls apart.
