Nicknames for Maxwell?

Curious what you think of nicknames for boy name Maxwell.....?

Max is the obvious one but what about Wells or Welly?

Well or Wells would work, but the natural one is Max and that's what people are going to tend to call him. My cousin has a Maximillian (they're in Germany) and they call him Maxie which I think is cute.

Max without a doubt. And I don't think that is just because I live in a rainy climate that I think giving a kid the same NN as a pair of galoshes is a bad idea.

Sigh...I hate this name because you can give it a good fight but he'll just be another plain Max. All Maxwell, Maximilian, Maximus, etc are Max

My son is Maximus. We call him Max, Maxie, Maxer. I don't think Wells is a natural derivative.

I think Wells or Welly is a bit of a reach. What about using William and you could do Wills or Willy?
