I have researched this some and even briefly brought it up to my doc who responded by laughing and didn't seem to think much of it. I'm not swallowing. I've read about picca but still I have an overwhelming urge to chew on straws, water bottle caps, and toilet paper/paper towels. And when I say chew I mean I chew up plastic like a teething puppy. I do this maybe 1 to 4 times a day and some days not at all because even I think it's strange. Never Did this pre pregnancy. Actually I could usually gag pretty easily with just a piece of gum in my mouth so this is all new to me. And brushing my teeth and tongue now. Feels amazing. I have a bunch of tests in the morning. Diabetes etc so guess we will see if iron levels play any part in this. Read that it could. Till then just curious if anyone else finds themselves craving to chew un food related objects. It's just crazy I mean. I watched that strange addiction show in confusion wondering how you could possibly even think to try toilet paper. And now I get it. I just hope it goes away.
