DS has reflux. But he's what Drs call "happy spitter", i.e. he's gaining weight without a problem. That said, I think when he has symptoms he tries to soothe himself with more milk (which just ends up part of the spit up cycle). This basically means he's breastfeeding every 1.5 hrs....I've talked to the pedi and they recommend giving him the pacifier (which he refuses to take since birth, and we tried a few different shapes) so he doesn't "overeat". Better yet, when he does nap it is only on me or DH, the second we try to put him down (bassinet, swing, bouncer, car seat, or elevated crib) he wakes up crying....the only thing that soothes him is breastfeeding.
DD was totally different, so I am not sure what to do here, poor kid doesnt get much rest. For the record, I've tried to address the root cause of the reflux by cutting all the dairy from my diet, which mostly just made him less gassy.
Any advice from those who's kids have/had reflux?

The real PITA are his hiccups; he can sometimes get them 3 times a day and they can last 30 or 40 minutes! Since starting the Zantac though, he usually gets them only once a day now.
Good luck. It's challenging dealing with this but we've seen such a difference very shortly after he started medication. He never arches his back in pain anymore and feedings are a lot more pleasant for everyone now.
Your doctors offered sound advice to you, yes, but clearly the natural methods alone aren't working. Once your LO is on meds, you should still follow natural methods too (burp, sit up for 15-20min after eating)
