TTC after 35

Cycle length worried!?

I have had 2 mc's this past year 1st one natural (jan) the 2nd was a mmc did a d&c in Aug. I got my 1st period in Oct. My cycles are 28 days but this cycle was 23 days. Is this ok? Would stress have anything to do with? My DH and I are wanting to try again in Jan. I am worried??

Re: Cycle length worried!?

  • I am sorry for your losses.
Cycles can be off for a while after a MC. Give it a few months to get back to normal. You can still try in January but with your cycles being off it might be hard to pinpoint ovulation.
You can temp and that will give you an idea what your body is doing.

    All welcome

  • Cycle lengths anywhere between 21-35 days are considered 'normal'. My cycles were between 21-23 days when I got my BFP a year ago, that ended in an ectopic unfortunately but it had nothing to do with my cycle length. Are you also charting/temping so you know when you ovulate? Cycle length on its own is not any indication of the 'health' of your cycle, but knowing when you ovulate and how long your LP (luteal phase, length of time between ovulation and your next period) is would tell you more along those lines. Definitely check out Fertility Friend (you can click on my FF Chart link in my siggy to get there), make an account, and do their free tutorials, you'll learn a ton about your body, cycles, and such to help you with TTC.

  • THese ladies gave great advice! as teh pp said how long LP is very important rather then the total length of time.
