Transitioning to crib

My DS currently sleeps in our bed but I'm considering moving him to his crib. However, as soon as we lay him down his eyes fly open and hes wide awake. Does anyone have any advice as to the best way to handle this? How many nights did it take for your LO to get use to it?

We made the transition around thanksgiving from our bed to a pack n play in our room. It took maybe a night or two to get get used to the pack n play again but I'm glad we did it for sure! My advice is do it sometime you have extra time (like a weekend if you work) so that if it doesn't go well at first you have the day time to get a little sleep.

Check the comfort in the bed too. DS would NOT sleep in his crib, but then I bought a mattress pad and made it more comfortable and he's been sleeping in his crib for a month now We transitioned from swing/bed-sharing

My baby loves radio static noise and sleeps with a little stuffed toy. Was the only way she would fall asleep in her crib. Shes now 4.5 months old and has been sleeping through the night 9pm-8am! And been putting herself to sleep since 2 months old.
