It's official. First round of IVF failed.

Went for my blood test yesterday, it was negative.   We are devastated.  Such a cruel process - to have gone thru so much effort, money and hope, then spend two weeks with phantom preggo symptoms thanks to the meds, only to get a negative test. 

Sorry, I'm very frustrated today.  Also just came to understand that no matter what we choose to do next - a frozen or a fresh cycle, I have to do another prep cycle first.  Ugh.  

And for a fun kick in the pants, when I asked the nurse if my doc would be calling me in the next couple of days (instead of just any doc in the practice), she said no, because she is on maternity leave.  Didn't think to mention that sooner?  (She looked about 5 months preggo suddenly the last time I saw her about a month ago).  

Thanks for letting me vent ladies. 
Trying for #2 with IVF after damage done in a D&C left me with one functioning (but too scarred) ovary and tube to get pregnant safely without assistance. It's a really, really long story, but that is the gist of it.  We have one daughter (whose c-section birth started this roller coaster) born in 2012 after a miscarriage in 2011. 
Failed 1st attempt at IVF (Fresh ET day 3, 1 frozen embryo saved) in December 2013.  
Failed 2nd attempt at IVF (Fresh ET day 5, 2 frozen embryos saved) in February 2014.

    Whoa. Where are you located? My RE went out on mat leave when my cycle failed too. Womp womp. 


    Ugh, I am so sorry girl. Obviously I can relate to all of this exactly. I know you are totally raw right now, and it takes a little while to feel numb, then you'll just feel more "wtf" 

    Just know that we are all here, vent as much as you need too, drink a lot of booze, etc.

    5/23: 3rd beta: 4000.6 + saw gestational sac and yolk sac
    5/30: 4th beta: 17,852 + saw fetal pole and heard heartbeat! 127 BPM!

    There are no words to make you feel better. It is the worst and most cruel process and is so devastating. 

    Tons of hugs your way and I wish you peace during this healing process.

    Thanks everyone. Just knowing you all understand is comforting. MrsCastillo and Breanne1974, sorry we are in the same club right now. And Castillo, I'm in Wisconsin - crazy coincidence!

    I've brushed myself off a bit and am trying to focus on the next cycle. Looks like my period will be here tomorrow and I treated myself to a lovely Long Island at a party last night. Yum!

    Talked with my RE this morning and he felt all went very well, and would recommend another fresh cycle (since I have low ovarian reserve) and implanting 2 next time. So that's likely the plan.
