Awww, I'm so sorry Sophia gave you a tough time.  I had to say to myself, "She's 2" over and over again when M would start acting crazy.  And I hear you on the house full of shit, I am cannot relax with the amount of clutter, and cardboard trash all over the freaking place!

  • 1. How did your kiddo(s) make out with all the holiday excitement?  She did really well, but I think she is still recovering.  Christmas Eve at my ILs was a big production, and she was very obviously still exhausted when Christmas morning rolled around.  And by the time we visited my parents Christmas night, she wasn't even interested in opening any gifts.  The baby was amazing, though.  She was not fussy, fell asleep while we were out, napped great...the was MY big Christmas present :)

    2. What was your kid(s)'s favorite gift?  I'd say her duplo legos, her baby doll crib, and this damn play doh ice cream shop my brother got for her.  She loves it, but can't do it well on her own, so I end up doing all the work!  And I can't leave it out for her to play with so she keeps asking me to get it out all.day.long.

    3.  What was your favorite gift?  I got a new phone.  Which I hated and promptly turned over to DH in exchange for his phone, which is only about 6 months old.  So it's not brand new, but new to me :)

    4.  Any gift flops?  Just the phone.

    5. Any funny holiday moments to share?  DD was more interested in the model train set up under the tree by Santa than in opening presents.  It was so cute, DH kept cajoling her into opening presents, and then she would go right back to the train.

  • 1. How did your kiddo(s) make out with all the holiday excitement?
Overall, they did pretty well. We tried to not hype it up too much, so we ended up Christmas morning asking the girls "Hey you guys remember what today is?" lol. Also, we were hosting this year, which allowed us to keep things (somewhat) under control schedule-wise.
DD2 was/is still not a big fan of Santa. Before Christmas, she kept repeating "no presents no Santa" - meaning she didn't care about presents she just didn't want to see Santa. She did warm up to him when he came to visit Christmas evening, but I had to hold her hand the entire time he was there.
Aside from that, DD2 and Baby Boy still wake up 2 - 3 times a night each. The holidays haven't changed that. Blech.

    2. What was your kid(s)'s favorite gift?
I think they loved everything they got, but seeing how we've watched Rapunzel about 12 times since Christmas morning, I'd say that was the big winner.

    3.  What was your favorite gift?
DH got me tickets to go see a comedian. It's the same as last year, except it's a different comedian and this one is one I reallllllly want to see.

    4.  Any gift flops?
Nothing that comes to mind, really. The only thing is, when my mom asked me where to get a gift card for DH, I wish I'd known the amount she had in mind. I figured she'd do $20 but she really went overboard this year and now I wish I'd told her to get him a card from a more practical place.

    5. Any funny holiday moments to share?
Tons :) I will have to make a separate thread for them

Logan did great :) Christmas eve we went to a friends house and he was very good. Played and DH and I would alternate with him. Christmas morning was awesome we visited the OC and he had a ball with his cousins and just all family.

    2. What was your kid(s)'s favorite gift?

Besides his tablet from Santa. Loves loves Little blue truck leads the way book. Honestly though we noticed he is playing with all his new stuff :)

    3.  What was your favorite gift?

I am loving my makeup palettes and scarves with skulls.

    4.  Any gift flops?  Nope

    5. Any funny holiday moments to share?

Nothing really funny but just lots of loving kisses and holiday cheer ;)

  • Oh, dd also kept asking for more presents every where we opened them. I guess we need to work on being greatful for things between now and next year.
We sort of had the opposite problem.  Christmas Eve with my ILs was a LOT of gifts - not just for her, but for DD2 and six adults opening, too.  After a couple hours of that, she was barely interested in the presents under our tree on Christmas morning.  I think DH was disappointed that it kind of took away from our morning and the"Santa" presents, he already talked to his mom about having them come to our place on Christmas next year.

  • BlinkMe182 DD1 was the same was Christmas night!  She was up until midnight, laying in our bed, jabbering away about the day.  She just.could.not settle down.  I don't blame her, it was a very busy 24 hours!

We always try to do "our" Christmas first for that reason. It may mean having to do it on Christmas Eve, but I'm fine with it.
