May 2013 Moms

Would you go??

So DH's boss gave him a gift card to a nice restaurant about a month ago. We have been planning to go out tonight for a date night. However now I am getting nervous and not sure if I want to go. We haven't been out to dinner , just the two of us since May 12th. I want to go but I am so scared of leaving A. The restaurant is a half hour away and she was a mess with teething yesterday. She cried all day and it was just a shit show.

Blahhh i don't know what to do. So many thoughts run through my head and its bad! I don't know if I should reschedule or just suck it up and go.

Re: Would you go??

  • yes, definitely go.  You will be surprised how rejuvenating a few hours to yourself will be.

  • I think for me it would depend on who I had lined up to watch her. If it was my mom, who my LOs are very comfortable with and who is able to get them down at bedtime, I'd go. If someone less familiar who may struggle at bedtime, I'd probably reschedule.

  • I think I may suck it up and go. The only thing that is bothering me is that usually we have my mom watch her if we run to the store etc. We live in a 2 family house and they moved in downstairs. My birthday is next week so I asked her to watch A then. A's Godmother has been begging to babysit so I had caved and finally said yes to her.

A is very comfortable around her but it will be her first time watching A and i guess thats what I am a little nervous about. My best friend will also be there so she  won't be alone. Granted my parents are just downstairs and I am sure if they needed help they'd get them or my mom would probably check up on them anyway. A is typically an easy baby I really can't complain. She goes to bed around 7/7:30. So all they really need to do is put her down to bed. A puts herself to sleep fairly quickly at night. So it should only be an hour or less that they are entertaining her. Once she is asleep it will be fine. I'm a total nervous friggen nelly!

  • Go! I had the chance to have a date night and I passed it up because I was nervous. I regret it!
  • Well ladies the odds were against me tonight. A broke out in a low grade fever and is a mess. I didn't want to leave her like this with someone who never watched her before.

I was really looking forward to a nice hot italian meal and being waited on. My mom said she'll watch her tomorrow , at least then I will feel more confident and not worry about rushing home.

Thanks for all the feed back , would be nice if we all could get date nights!!
