Are any of you having a scheduled induction for no medical reason? My doctor offered this option to me, and I am not sure what to do. This is my second child and of course I would love this LO to be here ASAP but I want to be sure I am ready. Anyone else have a scheduled induction for before their due date for no medical reason? How did it go, if you've already done it? My doc said we could schedule it for sometime after I turn 39 weeks.
Re: Scheduled Inductions?
I'd definitely want to wait and have my body start things off on its own if at all possible, even though the thought if knowing exactly when it's going to happen (like not having an awkward water breaking moment in the grocery store!) is enticing

Its a surprise! Team green!
It really is a head scratcher why your OB is offering this at all. Why wouldn't he/she just want to let your body do what it's built to do if you have no medical need for all the intervention? My OB asked me this morning if I was hoping to go into labor before next week for the tax break (she was joking) and she actually high-fived me when I said "No because I won't be 39 weeks until Jan 2 and I'm hoping she stays put at least until then. After that, I'm on her schedule." I'm serious. She high. fived. me.

This time, LO is not staying head down, so I may end up with a c/s. Or, we might induce. Either way, it will probably be before my due date, since she's starting to get concerned about my abdominal wall. (basically, I don't have one)

I have gestational diabetes that is getting hard to get it low during fasting, I've been having headaches, I've been dizzy, cramping bad, and my back hurts since I fell down the stairs at 30 weeks. Yesterday was kind of hard to drive... so I will get induced this weekend. I am worried with everything I saw online about getting induced, but with all this I don't have anywhere to run...

For me, the stress of figuring out who will watch our kids if I were to go into labor early as well as getting to the hospital quickly (we live in a big city and hospital is 20min away in no traffic) is much greater than any induction "risks". I also am confident in my doctor that she would not recommend/proceed with the induction if she did not feel me or baby were ready. Dr also mentioned that she feels this is a good idea because with #2, I went from 4cm to 10cm in less than an hour after they broke my water and she (jokingly) said she did not want me to be one of those ladies "who has her baby on the expressway on the way to the hospital".
I'm just hoping I get to my I induction date!
Will baby #3 be another girl?
