Question for Luvs users

We've been using Luvs diapers at night, but twice in the past week, we've had diaper explosions - not pee or poop leaks, bu the diaper itself leaked a ton of the gel crystal things all over LO. Does this happen to anyone else? We're thinking we'll just switch back to Pampers overnights, but wondered if this was just a fluke.

Never had the gel stuff leak out.  Luvs have always epically failed for us.  Poop out the front, back and legs.

So this is what my life has become.  Discussing poop.  Way more often then I ever thought I would.  She's lucky she's so stinkin' cute!

OP I use luvs and love them. I've noticed a gel crystal every now and then but no big explosions.

OH, I had a very in depth conversation about poop with one of his daycare providers the other day. And with mama friends. Over lunch. Classy.

Luckily, we have luck with Kirkland / Costco diapers - no stretchy back. Stretchy back diapers = poop up the back while he's awake. They're apparently huggies, but I don't know which version of huggies.

but they're not enough for nighttime - I don't think. Luvs were working (mostly) 'til the gel explosions. And @nonniedee - between size 1 and 2? Eek. my LO is truly gargantuan. We just started using 5's (!!!)

Never had a problem with Luvs during the day, but we do use Huggies overnites for nighttime capacity. I'm kinda intrigued by what those crystals must look like, though.

Kind of like snow. It's quite seasonal. haha They remind me of the stuff that you get in those silica packs in a shoesbox or something - except that they are like damp gel. They make a mess and are hard to clean up.

We had the gel crystals with Luvs and Huggies. Drove me nuts because they don't just wipe off easily. And I also worried about if they got inside of her...

We've been using Pampers Cruisers lately and I really like them. She tends to be an up-the-back pooper, and the Swaddlers weren't cutting it anymore. But so far, the Cruisers have been good. She did have a little poop out the top this morning, but I think it's because she's on antibiotics right now that give her really runny poop.

I've seen the gel stuff with Pampers, Huggies, & Luvs.....but I haven't had poop issues with Luvs thus far.  The only ones that I haven't had issues with (the gel) is Target, Meijer, and Fisher Price diapers. You may want to try the FP....they have elastic on the back over the butt for poop. I used those for awhile with DS1 & loved the FP overnights on the plane.  I'm cheap right now and the FP are a bit pricey for 2,

I've never seen the gel with the Luvs. We use them during the day and then Pampers Baby Dry at night.
