I realize flu season is nowhere near over but I'm curious so far.. All these sick posts are making me paranoid about my cramps

  • Well technically it was this year but not this season. I got it in January 2013 when I was pregnant. I had had the shot. It was awful, I was on tamiflu and quarantined for almost 2 weeks.

  • Didn't get the flu shot and haven't had it. My brother is apparently sick with it now ( or some kind of virus) so he won't be coming around for Christmas.

  • FYI there is a difference between the "stomach flu" and the real flu :) The real flu rarely causes GI symptoms.
Glad someone pointed it out! The one time I've ever had the flu, I remember not wanting to eat, but it was cause I felt so awful everywhere else. Not because I was sick to my stomach. And honestly, I'd take the real flu over the stomach flu any day. I HATE throwing up!!

I'd take the stomach flu. It's gone in a couple days. And for me, the discomfort is relatively mild compared to the respiratory one. When I had the respiratory flu, I couldn't sleep lying down because it was so hard to breathe and I was so sore and exhausted.
  • No. I have never had the flu or gotten the vaccine.

  • Just a reminder that the flu vaccine has the H1N1 strain in it so it's a good idea to get the shot ASAP if you haven't. There have been a few people this season who unfortunately died from it.
