Boy Name - Help Please!

Hey there! FTM and we are expecting a boy in April. Dh's first name is Nathanael (spelling from
The Bible, goes by Nate.) My dad and brother have their dad's first names as their middle names so most likely will keep that tradition.
William is a cousin who passed away a few yrs ago way too young. He was one of our fav people. I like that naming someone William gives them the chance to pick from several nicknames as they grow up. Just like the other names no real significance. (Our last name sounds like Pryor.)
Any thoughts? I don't want to run these past anyone I know in real life. TIA for your help!

Re: Boy Name - Help Please!

  • I would ask about William before using it. William's mom/other family may not want to have the reminder in their life every day.
  • @jyoung01 hey! William wouldn't be a problem. The family would like it. Plus we don't live anywhere near them so it would not be in their everyday life.

  • Love Noah! Really, I think they are all good choices except Jackson. Even though a lot of people use it as a first name nowadays, it just screams last name to me.

Oh, and I would spell it Nathaniel.

ETA: Just read the whole post and saw why you are spelling it the way you are, so I guess this isn't up for debate!

I agree Jackson sounds very last name. But I like when people spell it Jaxon.

  • I prefer Jackson Nathaniel, but I think William Nathaniel flows well too.
  • Thanks ladies. Agree totally with spelling of Nathanael. Hippies. :) but gotta stick with it.

  • I didn't include it in the poll but we're considering Noah William now too. Still really like the idea of MN Nathanael -but Noah William is growing on us.... Thanks for all you help/votes!

  • Us too! (Will) That's the nn we would use. :)

  • William by default. I don't care for Nathanael paired with names starting or ending with N.
