May 2014 Moms

Well, that's just really not what I expected... (A/S)

Well, we went in for our A/S this morning at "19w1d" and due May 18th... We left at 16w5d and due June 4th... (Never had a dating u/s) So if you bump back our due date 2.5 weeks, then you bump back our conception date by 2.5 weeks too, which basically means our baby was conceived when I should have been on my period? Whatevs, everything is all in one piece and LO has all the right parts! :)  We'll go back on January 22nd, when I'm really far enough along. It was too early to get all the views of heart they needed. I don't mind an extra peek :)  LO was looking super sweet all snuggled up, but in the process was sitting on his/her feet... The tech guessed boy, but said not to get too attached to the idea until we get our "real" 20 week U/S. (I'm a kindergarten teacher, so it just figures my baby  would be sitting criss-cross applesauce in my uterus)

  • Ha, that is definitely surprising.  So glad everything looked good though!

  • When I had my first ultrasound they changed our due date from May 8th to the 21st. That means I got pregnant after I missed my period. It's no big deal, but I was taken back by it, too. Our baby is healthy so I wasn't too bothered.
That stinks that you couldn't find out the gender because of the cross cross applesauce situation! Hopefully little one will not be sitting for circle time (if you call it that) at your next ultrasound:)
  • Yeah I know my cycles were really long after coming off the pill, so while it's totally feasible, I really didn't expect it. Everything you read says you ovulate some time around day 14 so to find out we conceived so late was surprising. I told DH we have a miracle baby! lol. I am a little bummed that I have to "repeat" two weeks though. I thought I was half way done!

Heheheh. Love the criss cross applesauce (pre-k asst teacher). :)
We called it sitting Indian-style when I was a kid!! Maybe that's not ok to say anymore...

  • That's what we called it too... Sometime between leaving elementary school and starting college to be a teacher it became criss-cross applesauce. It's PC and whatnot.
