There is a office in my area that specializes in ultrasounds and will tell you as early as 13 weeks. If the tech wasn't reasonably sure I'm sure she wouldn't have told the o/p. That being said, we all know nothing is 100% guaranteed. Lighten up ladies.
2ag... Nothing in life is guaranteed! I've seen this happen a few times myself. My 2 have all been predicted accurately. Fingers crossed for my husband and daughters sake.
I'm not a first time mom...I have a son and a daughter
We also received results from a blood test today. My u/s tech has also been doing this for 17 years so I trust her.
I'm sorry if you've yet to find out but don't rain on our parade
So, I'm going to say this completely serious and without any snark. It looks like you are new to this website based on the fact your children are older and you only joined with this specific account less than 3 weeks ago. The reason people (and myself included) don't appreciate and jump for joy at the I'M HAVING A _____ at 12 weeks is because based on what everyone has shared with you already in this post and you have seen in the pictures, there is a much higher probability that the ultrasound technician can give you the incorrect information now versus in 6 to 8 weeks from now.
For someone who hasn't been through this before or isn't armed with that knowledge, they could go in expecting to find out the sex of their baby at their NT scan and be told the wrong thing. It is not anyone raining on your parade or jealous of you, I promise. It's not wanting you or anyone else who reads this post to get their hopes up. Sorry if you took that the wrong way. This posts happen time and time again, that may be where the sarcasm comes from in the replies you received.
Also, why did you not share the information about your blood test earlier? It seems like that information would have been useful in your original post. It is very hard to draw any sort of conclusion from "Went in for our office visit today and was surprised that the u/a tech was able to see the sex of our baby!! We are so excited!" I'm not surprised at all of the responses that followed from that original post because you did not provide some of the information you did in later posts in this thread.
Sure, people are happy for you. But in the way you can be happy for someone who you have never met or interacted with. You having a boy or a girl does not affect me more one way or another which is why I never understand the point of these posts, but I am sure your family is very excited. I'm really not trying to be rude, just letting you know why people aren't in this post going YAY YINGYANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for whatever it's worth, if you haven't taken what I said to heart already because it was about giving you another perspective, I did like your original announcement picture. I thought it was cute and similar to the saying we did when we told family and friends about our first.
Re: Found out We're having a BOY!!
Congrats on your healthy baby yingyanglove!!
Bahahah.
