Another round of MOTY's anyone?

Ugg! I feel aweful!!! I was at a Christmas party with A tonight, DH had to work. Since it was so crazy warm, some of us sat outside at a patio set. It was pretty dark and A was banging her hands on the top of the table and started crying suddenly. She had stuck her thumb through the top of the table (honeycomb top) and twisted her hand so that her thumb was STUCK!! I couldn't get it loose, someone ran to get soap or oil and cold water and thank goodness the guy sitting next to me pushed and pulled her finger at the same time and got it out. I'm glad he did because it swelled up SO fast like, really swollen I iced it as best I could and she eventually started laughing and playing and grabbing things with her hand. That's when I started crying I feel like I didn't protect her and I shod have been paying closer attention. I know I'm being a bit dramatic, but OMG it broke my heart. I'm probably going to cry again when I tell DH later......

Try not to beat yourself up over it. It was an accident and lo seems to be okay. Live and learn. I remember the first real day the boys were home, we weren't discharged until after 6 the day before, I learned bouncy chairs were death traps. I tripped, broke my toe, dropped my five day old baby D into the rnp and he bounced up and I caught him in my arms. I cried because I thought I hurt him. I learned to watch my step. Hugs!

Oh no kmc, it's hard not to feel awful when LOs get hurt. And yikes @pinkmickey24! Glad you were both ok.

Today I was chasing down E for a diaper change, and right as I was about to catch her, she tripped and flew face first into her shopping cart. She split her eyelid and has a black eye. I should know better than to play chase in the house. ::hangs head in shame::

There were several other moms at the party (all with adult children) who were very supportive the oldest mom there was so sweet (her youngest is 42) she said 'sweetheart, you'll cry when they fall, you'll cry when someone hurts them, you'll loose sleep when their own children hurt them. It's what being a mom is about.' She was great

I hope your week gets better! I live in fear of biting A's fingers. She shoves them in my mouth so quick, I feel like it's just waiting to happen!

Kmc, you are an awesome mom! Getting a finger stuck sucks, but it happens. Glad she is okay!

Hmmmm...I've been letting J play with a Mylar balloon and those packing air pouches. Clearly bad parenting. She also loves to bang on the toilet seat cover. However, if I forget to put the lid down she puts her hands in the potty. Gross!

Where do I start? I've had a lot of mommy fails lately. :-( yesterday on our flight, I banged Molly's head into the ceiling. TWICE. It was a small plane, and I stood up and went to hitch her up higher on my hip, and BANG. Then like 30 sec later I did it again.
