Gas Drops

Are gas drops for both farthing gas and burping gas? Lo is 5 weeks and recently I've had problems with burping. Would drops help with this and if so any suggestions? It's like she gets a bubble stuck. It doesn't seem to matter how long I burp her for...

  • I have given drops before the last two feedings now and can't get her to burp at all. Is that what their supposed to do? No gas at all? Sorry ftm and just not sure.

yes I find the same happens, he ends up with big farts instead of burps after gas drops.
  • Is you LO uncomfortable with the big farts or just has big farts? Aside from not burping I think they helped, plus I the last time I gave her the drops I did it after she ate and burped and she is peacefully sleeping away right now.
  • They don't *always* work for us. We give them to her as needed but stil have to help her burp. Something that works for us is to put her high up on our shoulder so the belly is pressing on our shoulder, then walk around and pat her back.

  • The gas drops never seem to make much of a difference for us unfortunately.

  • Not sure if this will help the burping for your LO but holding my DD at an incline really helped our burping situation. I used to cradle her but now I let her feet chill down by my lap. It made a huge difference!

  • I feed on an incline. I sit her in my lap to burp her. Or lift her up and stretch her out and sit her back down and it sometimes pushes the burps out. And I never lay her flat after. Those drops don't help Callie much either.

he fusses as he pushes farts out...burps bother him much more though. Side note...it's so effing cute when he's fussing and farting cause every time he kicks his leg he toots, And every sob. Makes me giggle, though I feel bad that he's so uncomfortable. Usually he farts up a storm, poops and then is happy as a clam after we change him.
