The little things...

So everybody always talks about the big moments in a kid's life - first steps, first words, etc.  Those were great, but sometimes I like the little things that Jane discovers better.  Like tonight, after her bath, she discovered that if she shakes her head back and forth fast enough her wet hair would hit her in the face.  She loved it and it provided several minutes of laughs and smiles.  I love it when she finds little things like that - things that we tend to take for granted but that she's experiencing for the first time!  Aren't our kids awesome?

Without me even realizing it, DS has learned a majority of the alphabet and can say what all the letters are. I give credit to Super Why :) He can recognize nearly all the letters from the alphabet and points them out on everything. It's so cute to see his little brain working and how much fun he has with it.
I am so happy to hear that.. our lil guy just started paying more attention to Super Y and  the leapfrog programs ... that is awesome  :)

  • This is absolutely one of my most favorite things about kids. I enjoyed it with my nieces (and still do, and now my nephew too), but it is just the BEST with my little guy. It's like he discovers a million new things every day. He was SO impressed with DHs Christmas lights outside, and a couple of nights ago he asked to smell them, haha! He's so much fun. :)
  • DS watched me clean our new house today; wipe down windows, sweep and mop floors.

In the middle of doing the windows he came up to me and said, "Mama, me's!" I handed him the cloth and he proceeded to complete the job. Then handed me the cloth and went back to his toys.

A little while later, I heard him digging around in his toy box. He comes into the dining room with his little dustpan and brush and starts 'sweeping' in each corner of the room.

    It was so sweet.
Jane's broom is one of her favorite toys.  She sometimes has trouble putting it down long enough to eat!
