When am I allowed?

So I was curious because I forgot to ask my RE at our u/s on Thursday...when were you given the ok to have sex again after positive beta (sorry if tmi)?  Was it right away?  I'm wondering if we're being overly cautious because I have been playing it safe since right before transfer and it's getting to be kind of long!  Also once you decided to do it again...were you nervous at all? Thanks ladies!

We did after ultrasound but it sucked. I was too nervous and too dry...tmi. Ugh...hoping after Mondays u/s I'll finally relax a bit. They said you could cramp so be prepared it could be happen.

I was told to wait for first ultrasound- then they found cysts and they told me to wait until they resolved, then I had an SCH and had to wait for that, then at 20 weeks finally asked for an update to see if I was cleared and they told me yes. We tried it once, it was horrible (dryness and uncomfortable) so at 33 weeks we still haven't tried again lol. Told him would be another few months post partum.

Oh man you girls have convinced me I'm def waiting. I feel a little bad but at the same time I do not feel comfortable enough yet anyway!

We were told to wait until hb was heard but them we had a vanishing twin issue so we waited until that was all done. By that point I was so sick dh was afraid to get puked on so no sessy time lol. When we finally did it felt so different and not really enjoyable. I was probably about 20w before trying it again and it was better but still different. Hope that's not tmi, just my experience.

Our instructions said to refrain until we knew the outcome of our cycle.  After our beta and first ultrasound we did it a couple times but then I started prometrium supps vaginally so we stopped while I was taking those.  Once I finished those we started again a few times, but we were very, um, gentle? about it.  Then I had a bleeding scare and we wondered if it was the result of having sex so we stopped again.  I think we are just too paranoid now.

I keep having recurring guilt dreams too- I dream that I am about to have an orgasm but I feel guilty about it because I don't think I should be having one in case it messes with anything in there.

Dh and I started right after beta 1. Never stopped until 13 week bleeding scare. Then resumed 15 weeks and haven't stopped.

Our RE never told us, so I asked after we saw the HBs and he said it was ok. We then found an SCH so was put in pelvic rest, so no sexy time for awhile. Then we were cleared but I have been sick (writing this after I've thrown up tonight already lol) soo it's still pretty slim around here.

Don't feel bad girl, you're growing a human, it's hard work!

Doctor gave me go ahead once we saw the heartbeat but I have yet to even feel like I want to try. The nurse practitioner at the OB also said I could go back to normal as long as we arent crazy rough *lol*, but meh...I am liking my sex break!

I had bleeding issues and was told to wait until I had gone a week with no bleeding. Combined with m/s, I was at the end of trimester before we were able to even think about it. Now, in second tri, it's been good. Third tri might be a different story!

Thanks ladies...I am thinking we will see where we're at after we hear the heartbeat...I'm enjoying the break for the most part right now

After first U/S but was told to start with gentle sex and to stop if there was ever and pain or blood. We've only had sex once in the last two weeks since the go ahead.

We weren't told to wait at all after beta.  There was a bit of cramping, but no spotting, so we were good.  Although, the whole 1st tri I was pretty ill.  

TMI from me as well... it was pretty uncomfortable the 1st couple of times as my belly started getting more sensitive, but we've tried different positions that I can tolerate.  It's still awkward for me, but if we go too long I just don't feel as close to him, which I miss.  So, about once a week, awkward, uncomfortable, pregnant sex.  But, he did rub my belly last night and said it was the most gorgeous thing he'd ever felt.  So, I can stand uncomfortable, awkward sex to be close to such a sweet man and let him know he's still the love of my life, not just the father of my babies.

We were also only told to wait 4 or 5 days after ET...and then were given the go. I think there are differing instructions from our RE's  based on how conservative they are and other medical issues going on. Talk to your doctor and then just take it at your own pace. The first trimester isn't known for hot and crazy sex. It's hard when your'e feeling so awful!

My nurse told me there was no strong data either way but she recommended waiting until after the first US. And then there were tons of people posting on my BMB about spotting after sex and I knew I'd freak out. We ultimately ended up waiting until 12 weeks and have only had sex one other time while pregnant. It was better the second time but not great.

we waited for HB. i was pretty nervous. it didn't get exciting again until last week (week 20)

Every time I went it was like wait until positive beta; then that would come and go and they would say wait until ultrasound; that would come and go and then it was wait until you hear a heartbeat....then I had an SCH bleed and we were finally given the OK two weeks after I didn't have anymore bleeding.  I think they're just extra cautious with IF patients.  But if you think about it, there are tons of people who are lucky enough to get pregnant naturally, don't even know they're pregnant and keep on having sex throughout it all the entire time and it's totally fine.

As for the cramping/bleeding, I did have a little cramping at first when I would O but it was similar cramping to when you O with AF and it went away quickly.  I didn't have any bleeding at all from sex, but we were really careful and gentle the first time or two.

We were given the all clear when I graduated from my RE at 9 weeks. I was a little nervous the first time, but since then it's been fine. Aside from feeling fat and unattractive now, everything is great.
