Pregnant after IF

35 weeks and lots of discharge

So this is kind of TMI but I have to ask... I've had a lot of mucosy discharge in the past few days. I did have an internal cervical check on Thursday (50% effaced) and then yesterday had the tiniest bit of blood in the discharge (though not too weird for me I have a sensitive cervix). This morning I had to change my underwear already there was so much- so gross I know! I assume if it was amniotic fluid it would look different and would continue right? Anyone know if this is normal? I have had a lot of contractions even for me (not painful seem to be Braxton Hicks) I don't know if this could cause the discharge? Trying not to over analyze but let's be serious it's not my strong suit!

Is it more watery like or thicker? Maybe just call the on call dr to see what they think. I dont think your over analyzing so maybe just call for peace of mind. When I was 35 wks I had leaky fluid that was pink so went to ER and found that my water broke so I was admitted and DS was born that day. Thats why I was asking about the consistency. ;).

Eta: oops just noticed you said mucousy. Sorry.

  • Always good to call, just in case. But if it makes you feel better, I had this with DS towards the end. I remember it was called lochia, or something like that. It was like Niagara Falls down there until the end! I also had a ton of unpainful BH the last month or two, closer together than the normal range. But he went full term (water broke at 39 weeks).

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

  • Thanks everyone. It slowed down and it's not watery so I think I will keep an eye on it. I don't want to have to go in to L&D to get checked unless it's needed!
