Sleeping too much?

Is it even possible for a LO this age to sleep too  much? I don't know if he's just transitioning to one nap but he slept from 5 pm to 7 am last night. His bedtime is 630 and he normally gets up anywhere from 7 am to 8 am; so he gets 12+ hours nightly and then naps anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. I don't know, it just seems like a lot of sleep.

  • Mills has been sleeping around 15 total hours lately. I think it's just a transitional thing.

  • I wouldn't complain lol! He probably is either transitioning, growing, or maybe fighting something off. If he's not otherwise acting unwell I wouldn't worry.

  • yea, dd is varying with her sleep time too lately. I am wondering if she is going to drop to one nap soon. Also, i think it is teething/growth spurt.

  • DD will do 11-12 hours every night.  She naps <1 hour total during the week at daycare, but then on the weekends she'll nap for 3-4 hours total on both Saturday AND Sunday.
  • Well I jinxed myself, he woke up 3 times last night, poor thing went to bed fine and woke up two hours later screaming because he was so congested! He must have been fighting a cold and possibly a growth spurt, he eats a lot! As if this kid could get any bigger, he's such a monster.
