Cleaning houses?

Does anyone on this board clean houses for a living? I have 2 girls, one is 2, the other is 1, and i would like to start cleaning some homes to help with our finances..going from 2 incomes to 1 can make things a little tight sometimes and I think this would really help, and also give me a break from the girls..what do you charge, and what all are you doing? I have interest in a home that is 3000 sq feet, 2.5 bathrooms, all wood floors, and sheet washing for one bed...any info would be appreciated!

I have someone come in every 2 weeks so do some deep cleaning and she stays for about 3 hours. Our house is 1200 sq ft not including basement and she charges $90 but I always give her $100. She doesn't do any washing, just mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting.

So a 3000 sq ft would definitely cost more. Good luck!

 

We're almost the same.  1200 sq feet, she cleans the two bathrooms, kitchen, mops and vacuums (mostly wood floors), dusts, etc.  She charges me $100 which I think is a really good price since we're in a high COLA.  She doesn't do any laundry.

We live in a MCOLA and pay $100 every 2 weeks for a 1500 sqft house with 1.5 baths.  They vacuum, mop, clean kitchen and baths, dust everything.  They really do a fantastic job.  Theres 2 of them and it takes about 2 hours.  I'm amazed b/c it would take me all day to do everything they do.

My SIL lives in a HCOLA and pays $130 every 2 weeks for a 3500 sqft house with 3.5 baths.  I think thats a steal.  I still can't figure out how she's not paying double that.

Where I live you could charge about $175-$200 for a house like that. I would expect one person to stay at least 4 hours. I would want it done during a weekday while I'm at work but my neighbor has her cleaning lady come on Saturday.

It does vary by region. My girl charges me $100 and I have 2700 sq feet. The last girl I had in my 1100 sq foot house charged me $80.

Both my neighbors have houses well over 3000 sq feet and pay around $100 to $140 per cleaning.

I have 2750 sq ft, 4 bed, 3.5 bath. I pay $120 for every week. But our cleaning lady does everything. She washes our sheets and makes our beds, she folds laundry. So pretty much do whatever needs to be done.
