New baby girl at work was born today ... Layla Isis . Layla is pronounced Lie-La (they are debating if they should change the spelling to Laila) & Isis is an Egyptian name that isnt over the top to give credit to her dads nationality . I love it !

Layla does not pronounce the same as Lie-la. I'm really not a fan of Laila/Layla names

Both are meh to me. Not a fan of Isis, although I knew a girl in high school with this name. 

When reading Lila, my first instinct would be to pronounce it Lee-la. They should probably change it. And yeah, Laila can also be read as Lye-luh.

That kills me because I really do love Lilah (which is essentially the pronunciation they want)...how the heck does Layla sound like Lie-la. It's LAY-la
