So today I get a phone call from my OBs office and they said they need to change my appointment time to an hour earlier per Dr x's request on Monday (it is Friday). I told them that I couldn't do that I am a physical therapist and have patients and I can't cancel them. The receptionist goes "but it's per the dr's request!" I felt bad because I had toget bitchy and was like I understand that but I made my appointments months ago because I need to adjust my schedule and had to take vacation time for this. She puts me on hold and luckily someone with a little more sense comes in and I let her know that I was feeling fine and if she needed to cancel me I understood but I can't do earlier. She said she understood and paged the dr who said to just have me get there as soon as I could.
Like I know all these appointments are important but I scheduled all of my appointments well in advanced to be able to take time off to go do them. But still I'm the one left feeling bad because I couldn't change my appointment. Anyone else having issues? Like its not like I'm skipping it for a hair appointment I just literally can't adjust my appointments at all.
Update:
So today yet again I get a call that my appt needs to be changed this week because one of the docs is covering the hospital.
Now update to the post above they ended up canceling me anyway because the clinic was out of power. There was that huge ice storm but DH thinks that they were just making it up because it did seem a bit convenient. And I had to end up going to l and d that day because I ended up having an issue that needed to e addressed.
So yesterday they call and luckily I'm more flexible this week because it's a if I'm available I work if not there are no patients on my schedule kind of thing so I was able to switch but I had to talk to my boss just to double check. Their response "just pressure your boss let her know it's important". Uh yeah, luckily my boss is a lot more understanding now but imagine if I had a full patient load.
I call DH and tell him that our appt is changed AGAIN so he calls them (which I was leery about) and is just asking why they keep getting changed (3 of the last 4 appts have been cancelled) and their response is well things happen and he says I understand but my wife and I can't change our schedules last minute a lot of times, the receptionist just kind of blew him off saying that well people just usually move their appointments and husbands usually don't come.
I'm so mad I love the doctors but I seriously think for my next little one I'll be switching doctors.

Re: No, I can't change my appointment! (Again?! Update)
At least they didn't wait until you had taken time off work to go in for your appt to tell you it had been cancelled and they had "mailed you a letter" (who the f mails a letter to notify a patient of a cancellation??) and that they would happy to reschedule.
