Bleeding on BCP

Hey everyone. I am getting ready for my first IVF cycle this January. I have been on BCP since the beginning of November and have not been taking the inactive pills. For about 6 days I was spotting and then starting yesterday it became more than spotting so I called my RE's office. The nurse told me to double up on the BCPs for one week and that if I don't stop bleeding they are going to give me a prescription for estrogen. I am supposed to start Lupron injections the day after Christmas.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I'm worried it is going to mess up this cycle

I heavily spotted for about a week before getting my actual period. I was nervous it was going to mess things up, too, but doctor said it was fine and it doesn't matter if you start with a thin lining because the injections/hormones will build it up during stims.

I bled basically the entire time I was on BCP. It sucks but they said it was a normal response in some women..

Many woman can spot/bleed through birth control depending on the type they are on.  I know many people that have had to change the ones they take because of this, me included.  The hormones are mostly just to suppress ovulation/follicle production.  I wouldn't be too concerned if your RE is taking action when needed.

i spotted the entire time. it didn't matter because once you start the injections, your lining will thicken then.
