Boiling Hemp inserts

Quick question.... I have new hemp inserts... I know that it will take many washes before they are super absorbent.... I read that I can boil them for 30 minutes to help that.... Is it that easy?  Just boil them in plain water 30 minutes?  Do I need to add anything?  Do I need to be sure the ones I bought don't have anything that could melt on them?  Thanks!

That's right, is very easy. I usually boild them like 10 to 15 mn. I don't boil them to long. After one boil and one wash are ready to use.

Be careful if they have snaps. Some people boil snaps with no problem, but others have had them melt.
