Yikes! I would have wanted to kill, but everyone takes news like that differently and maybe you just need some time to process everything before you can make a decision on how you feel about him.

We take pictures for Christmas every year at this place that has a 19.99 package.  1 pose of your choosing and you get 48 photo sheets of various sizes and 20 Christmas cards.  I swore to myself that I would just purchase the 19.99 package.  $90 later I have an awesome shot of each of my boys and an extra family picture package in addition to the 19.99 package.  DH actually talked me into it though!   How can you say no when pictures come out so adorable?!?

@wino0920 Sorry I have MANY gay friends and family members none of which feel as though they are "suffering" for being open about their sexuality in fact they embrace it.  And I hope to live in a future where being gay isn't even a hot topic.

My 22 year old BIL is gay. He has suffered tremendously. He has been bullied for years for being gay and has suffered from social anxiety and depression to the point of being suicidal. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, especially not my own child.

@Mae208 my cousin, best friends, man of honor in my wedding, and nephew are gay.  There are people who will say hurtful statements but I am proud to say that times have shifted and maybe it's because I live in the North East but the gay community is thriving in Providence and in NYC where Im from, I am proud to be considered a part of it.  If my son were to turn out gay he would have many role models and support systems.  Hopefully in a culture which now is accepting of gay marriage and unions those persecutions that your BIL had to live through would be a thing of the past.  I firmly believe 20 years from now we will be in a much more supportive society.  At least I truly hope so.

I think she was saying that the child would suffer from being cut off from the in laws, not suffer because of being gay. Initially I thought the same as you but after re-reading it became more clear. At least, I hope that was what she was saying.

I had supply issues and broke up with my pump for good at about 6 weeks pp. I may break down and take a test, but so far I'm too embarrassed to walk into the drug store with my 2 month old to buy a pg test! Now I'm regretting that I peed on all the sticks with DD. I really didn't need to take 5+ pg tests to know I was pg!

Here. I'll quote my response to @sooner1981 when she did say something. And we had no power last night due to freezing rain on the lines so we stayed at a friend's. Dd slept with me and did fine. I will try her in her bed without the heating pad on tonight. Clearly, my daughter's safety is important and I don't want her hurt. I'm not concerned about my sleep. I truly look at it as just warming the chill of the cold mattress.

I put a heating pad in her co-sleeper, and remove it before putting her down. I think a lot of people on here do that, but the key is to remove it before putting the baby down.

Vet weighing in... Yes, WTF for sure.  In vet school they showed us this case where a lady got a skin disease from her dog, and it turned out they were bathing together and that's how it as transmitted.  6+ years later I still remember the photos of her skin.  ::icky dance::

Agreed.  So very unsafe!  DH has suggested using a heating pad since our parents' house was so cold when we were staying there, but then I explained that you def don't want to use one on someone who can't get away if overheating.  Heating pads can cause burns maybe just a preheat then turn off from now on!

Damn. I had to get in the bathtub with my dog bc when I was pregnant I was too big to lean over the side of the tub. I certainly didn't do it in the nude, but I changed into some shorty pants and a tank top. Should I get checked out @huntjul?

@awwwpuddin - you only need to get checked out if you now have a skin problem (e.g. A rash). Otherwise, you're fine.
