We had a private inspection (for $600 ugh) that showed that the levels in the house were twice what is acceptable. The county refuses to do anything because his level is below 10. My landlord isn't doing anything about it at this point, but I'm pretty sure once I give her the formal assessment she's required to fix it.
We are moving on the 29th. I don't know how we will manage. Money is super tight, but at least I booked people to move the big stuff. We can move boxes after that in our car. I'm not packed yet because I've been working until 8pm every night.
We contacted a lawyer who basically said they can't do anything about her breaking the disclosure law unless his level goes above 10. We can't get the landlord to pay for moving expenses or the private inspection. So we're out like $2k for this whole ordeal. But it's worth my son's health, even if I lose my sanity. The lawyer says to call in a couple weeks when he has his level retested.
Re: Update: Lead
The one month repeat is following the CDC guidelines. I want to make sure I follow the "rules" so there's no debate if we take legal action.
