Leaking amniotic fluid?

For the past few days, I have noticed that when I go to the bathroom, I smell ammonia. I wear a pantyliner, and while they are never soaked, they feel damp. I don't know why this didn't dawn on me until tonight, but could I be leaking amniotic fluid? I'm not sure what this smell is?

Ammonia smelling sounds like pee to me. I've heard amniotic fluid smells very sweet.

Like pp, I also read it smells sweet.  Never hurts to check it out with the Dr though just to be safe.

yeah, i'm going to go with pee here. i had to wear a maxi-freaking-pad at the end. should've gotten depends. it was that bad.

Not to scare you, but definetly check it out with your Dr.  My Dr said amniotic fluid doesn't have an odor.  I had a very tiny tear and was leaking fluid (but I thought it was pee) - I ended up with an infection b/c of the small tear, and had an emergency c section because of my fever - my boys were born and had to be on antibiotic immediately to insure they did not get the infection.  I would have it checked, just to be safe.
