RE didn't let me hear h/b

I went to my RE on tuesday, and it was a vaginal U/S. We saw the h/b. When I asked if we can hear or how fast it was, there was no answer. She continue to take a pic. Is it normal? I am 6W 4D on U/S day.

My first hb ultrasound was around that time and while we did hear the heartbeat a tiny bit, it was very hard for the doc to catch and he said that usually you just see the little heart flicker that early since the baby is so teeny.

We didn't hear it either at that appointment- we just saw the flicker on the screen. I didn't hear it until my first OB appt at 9 weeks.

We didn't hear it at our first appointment. The u/s tech tried to get it, but it was just too small at that stage. We did hear it at the next one.

But it's strange that your doctor didn't even respond to your question... Maybe they didn't hear you or they were too absorbed in what they were doing?

I agree with PPs  I didn't hear the HB until my first OB appt, at about 9 1/2 weeks.  and of course the OB didn't try to find both babies because those hearts are just so tiny!

I didn't hear it w the re either.

That early you can't actually hear the heart beating. Some ultrasound equipment can make a computer-generated sound based on the ultrasound waves that simulates a heart beat. Strange your doctor didn't respond -maybe just didn't hear you? You could call and ask if the heart rate was noted in your chart.

We didn't hear heart beat until 8 week ultrasound.

Ok thank you so cease my mind, I see so many ppl saying about their first U/S. This is the thing their is 2 RE's in this office and I went when my regular RE wasn't there cause it was DH's Birthday! And she was a little of anfthey didn't messure it either.

We didn't either. At my 6w3d scan they pointed out to us where each heartbeat was but we didn't get to hear it. I don't even think my RE was able to get a specific number because they were so small, he just showed us they were beating rapidly.

My first US we did get a HB measurement of 138 (6w4d). Our second was 178 (9w4d). I did not hear the HB at either of these. My first time hearing the HB was with my midwife using her Doppler at 13w4d. All was well.

We were able to see and hear it at that point - I think I was 6w2d at that point.  After one little thump I started crying and the RE actually told me to be quiet if I wanted to hear more haha!  We also got a few pics and one shows the heartbeat monitor line (no idea what it's actually called) with the little sound waves.  But it sounds like other ladies are saying the same thing as you, so sounds like all REs are different.  Maybe you can ask again at your next appt because at that point you should be able to hear it with the transvag u/s.

The first time we ever heard the HBs was at our anatomy scan, we always saw it and the doctors always said not was fine...but I guess I have old school doctors with old school equipment . It was the best, but I had to wait 18 weeks
