Stretch Marks

I've started getting stretch marks... which really isn't the problem as I already had some to begin with. The 2 or 3 big ones I've gotten have progressively gotten larger, redder and are really bumpy and itchy. DH thinks I need to have it looked at and he can see them a lot better than I can at this point. Is anyone else experiencing this or do you any of you STM'd have any insights? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: Stretch Marks

  • Its not abnormal for stretch marks to get itchy and lotion will calm the itch.

Congratulations on the new marks! =D>

  • Oh hiiiii I've been blasted but oh well I don't care and you shouldn't either! My mom had some like that when she had me obviously you doctor is going to tell you to drink a lot of water, but if you have some stretch mark lotion put done on, my grandma also said to try Johnson baby oil. I don't think that they are to be concern about just make sure you keep your skin hydrated at least putting lotion on twice a day!

    I hope that helps

  • I use Urban Skintrition Pregnancy Care (ordered on Amazon) on existing stretch marks and they've faded considerably so I've been using to prevent as well even though they're not really preventable, but it doesn't hurt to try!
  • I am in the same boat! So stinking itchy. So far lotion is helping with the itchiness a bit but that's all I've got! Lol.
  • Try rubbing cortisone on them. And aquaphor (spelling?) is really good, thick and long lasting. You might not be able to prevent them, but you can definitely make them less miserable feeling!

If you use cortisone but the ointment vs cream. My dr said it has less crap in it so better for baby. Who knows if it matters but I listened...
