in Pregnant after IF
Had my first ob apt. Today at 9 weeks 1 day and he tried to use the Doppler but no success. I also have a tilted uterus which can also make me wait longer to hear. I am having an ultrasound Friday but infertility brain will probably drive me crazy and make me worry until then. Anyone else nervous? Anyone else not hear on the Doppler?
Started ttc may 2012 Me:32. Dh:31 SA- 4% morphology Fsh:9.1 possibly not always ovulating Hysteroscopy/lLap 7/13 resulted in polyp removal, uterine septum, and mild endo stage 1 removed 10/13 IVF #1 successful

    We couldn't hear our bean on doppler until 12 weeks, even though they tried. I'm surprised he tried that early. It's REALLY early.

    5w3d loss 7/30/10 - EDD March 2011
    8w loss 4/15/11 - EDD November 2011
    8w3d loss 8/2/12 - EDD March 2013
    4w c/p loss 10/29/12 - EDD July 2013

    Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid, more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
    RPL testing all normal, Karyotyping normal

    Moving on to IVF.

    IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

    Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
    IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
    FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
    Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14

    After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
    We are so in love with her.

    We were just finally able to find the HB on our Doppler at home at 15weeks. You are still just a bit early and your placenta may be up front in the way. Try not to worry too much!
    Me: 37, DH: 35 :: TCC since 2/11 SA: Perfect! CD3  HSG = Blocked Right Tube
    April- Femara 2.5mg + Trigger + IUI = BFN   May- Femara 5mg = CX - No Response on Left = BFN
    June- Femara 7.5mg + Trigger + IUI = BFN  August- Lap & Hysteroscopy = Blocked & Partially Blocked Tubes
    September- Femara 5mg = CX - No Response on Left = BFN  October- 100mg Clomid + Trigger + TI = BFN
    IVF # 1: Stims 11/30 ER 12/12/12! (10R, 10M, 8F, 2T, 6 F) :: Beta #1- 176  c/p @ 4w4d
    FET #1 February 26th :: Lost 4 to Thaw, Transferred 2 = BFFN
    IVF # 2 Stims 5/10 ER 5/21 (15R, 13M, 13F, 2T, 7F- 6d3 & 1d5) :: Beta # 1- 15 c/p @ 4w
    FET #2 Cancelled, Right Tube Developed a Hydro  8/28 Hydro & Scar Tissue Removed  Cleared for FET
    FET #2.2 Scheduled for September 20th
    2 Thawed, 2 Transferred! Beta #1- 96, Beta #2 906! :: EDD June 10th
    2015- 2 failed FET. We are done

    Ohhh don't worry, Doppler this early can be unsuccessful. Ultrasounds are better, plus the visual of that little flicker will be so satisfying. Hang in there. Its almost friday
    TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --

    Don't worry, it sounds like it's just a bit early. Most my pregnancy apps say you can hear the HB with Doppler 10+ weeks. We heard ours a little after 10 weeks I believe.

    my dr wouldn't try with a doppler until 12 weeks and said not to be surprised if we didn't hear anything even then.  sorry he scared you unnecessarily!!!!  i'm sure everything is fine! 
    Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!); 
    Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.  
    Clomid + Trigger x2; 
    IUI + Femara x1,
    IUI + Follistim x2;
    IVF #1 (MDL) February 2013- BFN.
    IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life. 
    Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

    Oh lordy. Why would a doctor put you through that!?  My OB would occasionally try with a doppler at 9 weeks telling you upfront that it's likely too early. Then he would bust out the ultrasound and give you a good, long look.   My office policy is that you don't leave until you hear or see the baby.  It just makes for nervous pregnant ladies.

    I have a tilted uterus as well and was told it may take longer to hear the heartbeat by Doppler. Hope the time goes by fast for you until the ultrasound!

    Hang in there! My doctor also will not use a doppler before twelve weeks. It's just early :)

    | Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014

    At our 12 week appt, OB couldn't find the HB with the Doppler. But he did use an u/s machine and heart was beating just fine. We found out at our a/s that I have an anterior placenta, so I'm not sure if that was making it harder. And I have a tilted uterus too! 9 weeks seems super early, and I bet you'll see a beautiful HB at your ultrasound!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    This exactly!!! This actually just happened to a friend of mine and I was so furious with her dr because she has had previous losses and he busted out the doppler at 8 weeks. Omg. WAY TOO EARLY!!! Sorry you have to wait until fri to see if everything is ok in there.

    You'll hear it during the us. And see it! They never even tried doplar on me till like 15 weeks. Hang in there!

    Thank you all ladies! We all know what these stupid IF brains make us go through. I'm sure my husband is going to soon put me in the garage for the next 7 months. I pray tomorrow goes well and we can breathe again...hopefully uninterrupted for a few weeks.

    When you were at 9 1/2 week did you get an transabdominal or vaginal ultrasound? They're starting with the transab tomorrow and I hope it works!

    Transab at 9w3d, and they could see everything they needed to see just fine.  A tilted uterus can make that harder though, so don't freak out if they have to switch to transvag.

    We were able to hear on doppler at 10.5 weeks but it took my midwife a while to find and keep it.  It's probably just too soon.  The only sure way you'll be able to hear it really at that point is transvag u/s.  I'm actually surprised your RE didn't check for this before you got discharged...mine checked 3 times with the transvag to make sure it continued to be strong and baby was growing before I graduated.

    My re did a trans wk 7 and wk 8 and we heard the heart beat! So, I should relax but I'm sure you all are aware of how hard it is to get any sort of questioning news.
