Another daycare gift question

DS is in ft daycare. He has 2 main teachers and 1 floater who helps with breaks. The 1 main teacher clearly adores him and he just lights up every time he sees her, it's awesome! She bought him a very nice Christmas present and gave it to him today. I would venture to guess she was not this generous with all the children. I would love to give her a nicer gift than the other main teacher and floater - do you think that is ok? I wouldn't want them to compare... I am especially concerned about the other main teacher feeling slighted but I do feel the one girl goes above and beyond. And then should I give the floater who I rarely see the same amount as the 2nd main teacher? Money isn't really the issue, just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings... Sorry this got long... Oh, and was planning on gift cards to target or something.

If you do a gift card I think it is completely fine to give different amounts. I doubt they will compare the amount on the gift card.

You'd like to think so. Haha. Having worked in a daycare, I can tell you that everyone definitely compared. Not in a bad, competitive way. Just like "Hey, what did you get?" OP, I personally stick to the rule of equal gifts for equal positions. Head teachers get the same value gift, assistants get smaller same value gifts, etc. If she notices, she might take it as "We like you less, so we gave you less." There's no hard and fast rule, though. If you feel like giving more to one over the other, feel free. I'd just rather err on the side of caution in case there are hurt feelings.

I was going to say the exact same thing. Teacher's definitely compare gifts and I could see feelings getting hurt. You can say something especially nice to the teacher that goes above and beyond in their card but, I wouldn't give different lead teachers, different gifts. It is definitely fine to give a floater a different amount.
