1st U/S - Twins! 2nd U/S - 3 heartbeats!!! - HOLY COW!!!

Also, some of you may remember that I've been having thyroid issues the last few months...in Aug my TSH was elevated so my endocrinologist upped my med and then when it was rechecked in Oct it had almost doubled instead of going down, so my med was upped again. I had it rechecked on Monday and it is "perfect" now! YAY!!

DoublePortion - Yay for getting your thyroid under control!
I didn’t mention it in any of my recent posts but we sadly had to say goodbye to our sweet baby girl (our kitty) two weeks ago. She was diagnosed with cancer over a year ago and while we did everything humanly possible in the way of treatment in the end the cancer metastasized to her brain. It was an incredibly difficult decision but we loved her too much to let her suffer. She was my shadow for eighteen years and the house feels so empty now.
On the IF front we have been trying to figure out what our next steps are. It was kind of dizzying to go though all of the testing in CO and then walk away. We have narrowed down our clinic choices though and are hoping to be accepted into a guarantee plan. I don’t want to say too much until we have our first consult but I think things may work out. I have no idea how I keep managing to find optimism in this process but I guess having you ladies as inspiration helps!

IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14

A lot of people think GD affects only those who are overweight or who have eaten unhealthy, or have gained a lot of weight during pregnancy, but in my case none of these is true.
Tomorrow morning I have a training session on the gluclose (AKA finger pricks) meter. I am VERY bummed about that part - I have to lay down at the doc's office even to get a finger prick done so I'm not sure how I can get through 4 pokes a day... but darn it I will. I learned to give myself shots for 8 cycles (TI with triggers, IUIs and IVFs) and I can do this for 2 months. The strict diet part I can handle, even over the holidays, it will be fine. We'll be having extra growth scans as well to check on bean - but interestingly both Mister D and I aren't very excited about seeing him or her on an ultrasound again. We've been really liking imagining who they are in there.
Besides this and some intense insomnia, things have been going super great.

I am bleeding again I hope this is just the bleed after provera and not the start of a new batch. I am going to pt and am so out of shape my whole body hurts the day after I go, DH isn't very sympathetic why can't men go through all this? Oh yeah I forgot they aren't strong enough:)

Mrs.McIrish - Good luck with this cycle! Glad to hear you're onto the estrace now! And I think it's sweet that you were led to the donor because of the kitty! I just love that!
Km - Congrats on reserving the new donor and I will keep my fingers crossed that anything found on your RPL will be minor and easy to treat, if anything is found at all.
BzeetyD - Oh man, so sorry to hear about the GD! That really sucks! I'm diagnosed with IR and while I don't regularly test my BG, I do occasionally. I find pokes on the sides of the fingers hurt less than right in the middle because there are less nerve endings. You can get really tiny lancets that help too. You're strong - you can do this! *hug*
luvboston - I'm sorry you're having such a rough time and I wish YH could be more sympathetic. You're right though. We're the tough ones! Sometimes I wonder how this process would go if the tables were turned with our husbands, right? Oh man...I shudder to think! My husband thinks he has cancer or spinal meningitis anytime he has a run of the mill cold.

Sophistikitty...I am sooo sorry for your loss. They are our kids so I know how devastating it is! And glad you are feeling positive on the IF front. I think each set back and disappointment makes us want to fight harder.

I've been feeling a little better emotionally lately....I think having family coming for the holiday is getting my mind off things. wtf appointment next Friday! So nervous and pretty sure they won't have any answers for us but they messed up so bad! As scary as it is for me because I hate change, I also scheduled a second opponion in January. I just want someone to have confidence that they know what is going on with me and why the heck I've been such a poor responder! Never in a billion years would I have thought I would be going in for a FIFTH cycle. Thanks for all the support girls!
IVF #1: ER 1/23/13- 4 eggs retrieved, 3 eggs fertilized; ET with 1 embryo 1/28/13 2 frosties beta #1 2/5 was 4.8- beta #2 2/7 3.5; BFN
FET #1- transferred one beautiful 4AA embie. Praying this is my take home baby. Beta 5/7/13- BFFN!!!
IVF #2: ER 7/17/13: 6R/3F- transferred 1 blast and 1 10 cell embryo 5dt. Beta hell. #1 2.5, #2 2.2- BFFFN! REALLY?
IVF #3: ER 12/1 and only 2 retrieved. 1 fertilized with ICSI. Was planning on transferring one fresh and one frozen....fresh was only 14 cells at day 5...CANCELLED and devastated due to 5cm blood filled cyst in ovary and blood in uterus.
IVF #4: Antagonist protocol with endometrial scratch day one of stims. ER 4/21: 6R/4M/3F- transferred 2 beautiful blasts (5dt) and one was hatching! No frosties but hoping we won't need it! Beta 5/4/14- 444(8dp5dt), Beta #2 10dp5dt 1002! THIS HAS GOT TO BE IT!!!!!!!!!! First US 5/15 we saw two of the most beautiful gestational and yolk sacs I have ever seen!
