Loudoun Moms- OB suggestions needed

Hi all!  When I was pregnant with DS, I had a good experience with my current OB but they've gone through lots of office changes, and not for the better.  They lost one of their best doctors and the receptionists are tough to deal with.  Most recently, I scheduled my first prenatal appointment for eight weeks, as is their policy, when I was only four weeks along.  They've already rescheduled it once (and actually failed to tell me that with the rescheduling, I would be going to a different location - would've been an unpleasant surprise).  They called two days ago to cancel entirely and the earliest they could reschedule me was January 14, when I'm nearly out of my first trimester.

I am shopping around and would love to know who you've seen/ what practice, both the good and bad, so I may narrow my search.  I think I may have found one, but I would love opinions from other mamas and mamas-to-be!!  Thanks!

  • I went with Loudoun Community Midwives who I loved. All staff there were excellent, my appointments pretty much ran on time, and I felt very supported and cared for. If midwives are a possibility for you I would highly recommend them!!

I second Loudoun Community Midwives wholeheartedly! I'm on my second pregnancy with them and couldn't be happier! Also, as a caveat, I am a nurse, although not L&D, and the Midwives are used by soooo many of my coworkers. When fellow healthcare workers have nothing but positive reviews about them, that says a lot about them!
  • Third LCM! They are FANTASTIC! They have 3 offices now, Landsdowne, Leesburg and Ashburn. I love that you rotate through every midwife and they truly get to know you (if you know what I mean...) ;) They are always available and flexible and willing to listen. It's your birth, and they are there to guide you!
  • 4th LCM.  or, if you're looking for an obgyn practice i'd look into loudoun obgyn.  i'm a new patient there with my second pregnancy.  i had to transfer from the midwives because i'm not considered high risk.  so far, though, my experience with loudoun obgyn has been positive.  however, if i wasn't high risk, i would still be with the midwives.  i was REALLY sad when i had to look for a new practice.
