Success after IF

Question from IFer - spotting in 2ww and still success?

I hope you don't mind me jumping on here with a question. I love reading about all of your success after IF.

This is my first IVF cycle. Transfer was 12/11. First Beta is Friday. I started spotting on Monday. (TMI WARNING) always dark brown, almost cm sticky in appearance, never more than a panty liner can handle.

I called and spoke with the on call doc. She told me it could be spotting for no reason, sign of implantation, or that this cycle unsuccessful.

When I Dr Google for success stories after spotting, The ones I read were success after bleeding later in the first tri (6-12 weeks).

I also read that spotting is more common after IVF. Wondering if anyone had any spotting in their 2ww and went on to have successful pregnancy.

Thanks!

Re: Question from IFer - spotting in 2ww and still success?

  • When I was pregnant with DS I had spotting right before my beta. My beta was at 13dp3dt and I started spotting at 10dp3dt. It was bright red like AF starting then changed to darker brown. (BTW - dark blood usually means old blood.) I thought for sure it was a BFN or another m/c but it was my first sticky BFP and I am watching DS play with his trains as I type this. I ended up spotting on and off during the first tri without explanation. GL hon!
