BLW - Ideas needed - make ahead?

We tried purees for a few weeks, but decided to switch to BLW mostly. He does much better with the BLW style (we do still spoon feed yogurt though).

I bought and read the book, but it doesn't really have any ideas for actual things to cook. I ordered a cookbook, but the package got stolen on Saturday (ugh - hope they enjoy the book about feeding babies!). I've gotten some ideas from the check-in too.

So far, I've mostly been making everything right before serving and it's pretty time consuming. What do you do to make things ahead/store to have it ready to go? Do you freeze anything?

  • It might be easiest to meal plan and include things that baby can eat. For example, I make freezer meals for us so weeknights are easier, but they always include things baby can have too.

  • I guess I just need to make better things for ourselves to share!

We eat pretty healthy, but I have a hard time seeing how it translates to him. For example, I had a tuna sandwich for lunch yesterday.

I think pp is right that I need to meal plan more. I'll give that a try!

  • I always prepare things ahead of time for meals that I don't find shareable (tuna sandwich). I have tubberwares of steamed pears and apples, cucumber sticks, and avocado ready to go at all times and also hummus (for toast). They are so easy just to whip out and leave at room temp for a few minutes.
