My daughter was given this because she has an ear infection. I have noticed a different kind of diaper rash. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it cause a diaper rash?

This. DS was on antibiotics for awhile and developed a yeast infection on his scrotum. It's a red spotted rash. I had to put nystatin cream on it for about a week.

My pedi recommends a probiotic like culturelle for LO if they have diarrhea/diaper rash while on antibiotics.

LO has a eed shiney rash and she is on it right now

YES! I hate amoxicillan for that reason. Every time my son has to take it he gets a crazy diaper rash that is out of control. The poor guy! We request anything but that when he has to be put on meds. Usually the pedi can come up with an alternative that isn't so bad on the bum.

I used the culturelle 1x/day and didn't have any problems.

My DS took culturelle for the first when he was like 5 mos.  He was on amoxicillin for an ear infection and it gave him diarrhea and a rash.  The culturelle was a huge help.  

They sell it in powdered packets starting at 25- 50lbs.  We gave half a packet to him daily while he was on amoxicillin and for a few days afterwards.

As a PP said its a yeast infection due to the antibodic. FWIW the majority of ear infections are viral & antibodics won't help except to bring down their immune system. A lot of the time if they are in pain give them motrin and coconut oil is great just use an infant dropper. We use coconut oil to cure diaper rash, pink eye etc. Of course its the pharmacy grade not cooking.

My son is the diaper rash master. If anything at all changes BAM diaper rash. His skin is just soooo sensitive. I just feed him yogurt daily to keep it under control antibiotics or not. He loves Yobaby and Yotoddler yogurts.
