Scared myself :(

I just gave my son Tylenol for the first time. My dh and I are pretty anti medicine. I'm pretty certain my little guy is getting another tooth. He has been super irritable, drooling, gnawing etc. I gave him all sorts of toys that were cold and oral gel for babies. He still seemed like he was hurting.

Anyway I just gave him a dose of Tylenol and now In so scared that I gave him too much. I was texting my mom and ahe said I would literally have to give him way over his dosage to do anything bad to him. I'm just freaking myself out now

Anybody else crazy like me?

How much did you give him? Did you follow a chart? If so he will be just fine.

It's in ml here. It was around 1.2-1.5 which is the dose for babies 6-12 months that weigh 8-10 kilos. I fell a bit closer to 1.5

I feel like I know it's okay bit my mind is like you gave him too much.

We have given John 1.5ml whenever we feel like he's hurting. Haven't had any problems, although it's probably easier for my hubby and I since we both work in the medical field.

How big are your babies? My guy was big at birth and had been in the 95th%. He is now in the 75th. He weighs about 19lbs.

Here's the math for you so you can feel better

Tylenol concentration is 160 mg per 5 ml, or 32 mg per 1 ml. Your LO weighs 19 pounds, so roughly 8.6 kg. Tylenol dosage is 15 mg per kg, so he can get 129 mg safely. 129 mg divided by 32 ml = 4 ml. You could have given him double what you gave him and it would still be a safe dose!

ETA: @WorkinIt - OP didn't give "only a touch over" the correct dose, don't freak her out!
