Re: ~~Second Tri Check-in~~ Dec 17

  • Update:  My trip was great, but busy.  I have had the “travel bug” since I was pretty young and this baby seems to have turned me into a home-body.  Pretty much the entire time I was away, I couldn’t wait to get home.  DH and I spent a few days in Paris by ourselves before heading off to the wedding in London.  That was when the exhausting part began!

On an exciting note, I made it to V-day!  It was yesterday and I can’t believe it.  Still a long way to go, but it feels more real every day.

QOTW:  DH would be a bear.  He has two sides, the side that is sensitive and intelligent, and the dominant side that never backs down from an opponent and would potentially batter someone into submission (not physically in his case) just for the rush of it.  And he’s strong, too.

No updates. How boring lol a/s in a week and a half :)

QOTW: hmmm I would say MH is like a killer whale. Trainable, sensitive, sweet but every one forgets that he can be mean. And he loves the ocean.
  • Hi all! 23w4d here.  Have another appt on Thursday and have to do the 1 hour GTT (bleh), but on a positive note we are getting a freebie u/s since the tech couldn't get all the measurements they needed at our 20w a/s.  Everything is going well so far, been pretty uneventful which we are very thankful for.

  • I'm 21 weeks and doing well. Had an OB appt Friday, and cervix and fluids both looked good. Got an unexpected ultrasound (our 6th one already), and baby was super wiggly as always. Love seeing her move around so much, little wiggleworm. Found out I'll be induced at 39 weeks if I haven't delivered her already.

DH would be an emperor penguin for sure. They are such good daddies and husbands, nesting the eggs on their feet while mama eats (I am one hungry mama). DH is very protective and sweet like that, and a good partner. Plus, I can picture him sliding around on his belly on the ice.... Just sounds like something he would like to do.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

20 weeks here. Feeling lots of kicking this week. :) I love that feeling! I was going to say emperor penguin, too, for all the same reasons except the belly sliding, although now that you bring it up, I'm sure he'd like that too. Haha

  • How far along are you this week?

    24 weeks and change

    Any appointments or other updates?

Just had my 24 week appointment today and had my fetal heart echo test last week.   My placenta is close to cervix, so will have another u/s at 30 weeks.

QOTW: If you were married to an animal, which animal would your DH/SO most likely be?  In other words, what animal does your SO remind you of, LOL.

Grumpy Cat!  (He would be grumpy to know that I called him a cat and would prefer lion, tiger, or wolverine, I am sure.)
  • Can I be added? EDD 6/8.
We have been sharing the news with coworkers and friends this week. It's exciting but last night I was suddenly felt paranoid. Like now that most people know something is bound to go wrong.
QOTW: Grizzly bear because he is pretty hairy and can be a real meanie when he is in a bad mood. He would also love to hibernate in the winter, sometimes he is a real homebody. I am sure he would prefer if I'd said wolf or something cute like a river otter.

  • @kflynn81, I know what you're going through. We are still waiting to hear back from my doctor regarding the noninvasive blood test I did. I declined the amino. It's really scary waiting. Try to keep the faith. Some doctors are overly cautious and push extra testing. When do you hear back? You and your lo are in my prayers.

  • Just about 20 weeks and doing pretty well.  My OB decided to send me to see MFM in a month or so...just for more monitoring and such.  I got to see them again yesterday and the boy was snuggling with his head on this sisters chest...the best!  My heartburn was getting to be really bad, so I got started on some Protonix yesterday, my life has been changed forever!

  • Hi Ladies.
All is well at 15w1d here. Not much happening other than an increase in my nausea(joy!). Our next appointment isn't until after Christmas so its just a waiting game until then. We were finally able to find the HB on our Doppler the other night. H was giggling like a little girl, it was awesome! We even have the giggles recorded so he cant live it down now!
We may have actually come across a girl name that we agree on too! The boy name has been pinned down since before we even got KU, so this is huge that we seem to agree on a girl name!

I am horrible at these sort of questions! H is stubborn, set in his ways but very fun loving and loyal. I have no idea what sort of animal that would be!

    PAIF/SAIF/Everyone Welcome!

  • We are doing great - just trucking along. Our AS is on Monday, which I'm excited for, but also nervous. I feel good except I still hardly have a bump. Is that normal for 19w? I can definitely feel the baby move, though, which is insanely exciting! I think I can almost feel baby from the outside, which is simply amazing to me.

DH would be a turtle. Wise, stubborn, strong, and sweet.

  • I am 19 weeks today and doing well!  We got our quad screen results back today and everything looks normal!  I have started keeping track of what I'm eating and how much, and I'm having less headaches now that I am trying to eat more frequently and more protein.

I think my DH would be a dog.  He is really friendly and messy and assumes everyone wants to be friends with him :)

  • I am almost ready to be added to 2nd Tri!  I am 14 weeks today.  I will come up with a better intro for next week, when I am in the right timing for the weekly check in.  I have Twins that are due June 20th, 2014.  (and  SCH that hasn't caused any more problems since last week!)
As far as DH, that is a tough one!  He's not really a furry animal kind of a person - so maybe a fish?
    see you all next week!

Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
    and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!

  • I am in my 21st week.  Anatomy scan went well.  I am still shocked they are girls.  We are thinking Julia and Aubrey.  Julia is my pick and Aubrey is DH's pick.

I have growth scan on Jan 2, and fetal echo on Jan 14.  I feel like I am always at the doctors.

My DH is hard to pick for an animal.  He is very protective of DD and I.  He is also very passionate about certain things (traveling/running), but he is very unmotivated when it comes to working.

    Ella - 10/19/10
    Julia and Aubrey - 4/3/14

  • How far along are you this week?  Any appointments or other updates?
I'm 17 weeks and 3 days today.  Our 2nd level ultra sound is scheduled for January 2nd.  I found out today that I have underlying chronic hypertension.  It sucks, but it's controllable with meds.  I have to do the 24 urine test for protein this weekend too.  I'm just SO excited to store a jug of my pee in my refrigerator.

QOTW: If you were married to an animal, which animal would your DH/SO most likely be?  In otherwords, what animal does your SO remind you of, LOL.
DH would be a puppy.  Seriously.  He's so cuddly and sweet.  There's not a mean bone in his body!
    All Welcome!
