Update (fibroid etc.)

We formally notified our new prospective clinic a couple of weeks ago that we will not be moving forward and asked for our deposit to be refunded.  I anticipated issues due to others’ experiences and as suspected we were not given a full refund.  They docked $200 in nursing fees (I had significant bleeding after the hysteroscopy and after three days decided I better call, this resulted in a two minute conversation with a nurse and a two minute call back after she consulted a doctor).  They also docked a $250 fee for our psych consult which apparently was not part of the package (interestingly, I still have the sheet that says it was).  Anyway, good riddance.  

I met with the reproductive surgeon and my fibroid has shrunk since he last saw me... it is now 1.8 x 2cm.  He said that if he was to do the surgery his colleagues would question his sanity.  There is no uterine impingement and therefore no reason to elect to do a surgery that could potentially cause scarring. 

So with that I am officially done with the five star clinic and couldn’t be happier.  Although I feel that in a perfect world their lab would have brought us success, I believe that divine intervention prevented us from moving forward.

$200 for nurse calls is highway robbery! I'm sorry you're out some money, but glad you were able to get the majority back. I hope that fibroid shrivels up and goes away! Huge hugs.

Wow, unbelievable. If a clinic doesn't want you as a patient because they feel you will mess up there precious stats, they should have the balls to just say that and not make up crap to get you to leave their care. The nickel and dimming for phone calls is obsurd. I've never heard of billable hours for a nurse!! Hope you can find your way elsewhere and send them a nasty gram after the fact!

I'm sorry you had to pay for that, it's just wrong. I'm glad you're happy to be leaving them in the past.

I'm so sorry you didn't get your full deposit back. That's ridiculous! I hope you find a new RE that will work with you and come up with a great plan for you.

Thanks ladies.  As I said I truly am thankful that we are done with them because I feel I never would have been able to predict what was around the corner.  All I can think about is J&D2007 and everything she went through.  My experience is nothing compared to that.

I'm so angry reading this! What a bunch of bull @(*#&! I can't believe this place is touted so wonderfully, when the reality is the experience you ladies describe. I agree - good riddance to them! I hope your successful cycle is right around the corner with your new clinic!
