Special Needs

Hi again!

Hey ladies!

I Intro'd here about 8 months ago when my 2 year old had a speech delay and was being evaluated. At that time both therapists said it was just a delay, nothing serious to worry about and gave me some strategies to work on at home. Well in 7 months he made little to no progress so we scheduled a follow up with another therapist (through govt public health services-ie free!). We've had two sessions now an she feels that my DS is apraxic. It was a little tough to hear but with the progress he has made already I'm glad some one finally listened to me when I felt his speech was problematic. We haven't developed a therapy plan yet but it seems like we will be seeing her pretty consistently and working on lots at home too. I know there are a few apraxia moms on here, so if you ladies have some advice for me I'd welcome it. I always feel at a bit of a loss on how to help DS. Oh yah I have a new 3mo DS too!

I hope to be able to participate on the board as much as possible...sometimes I feel like I dont have enough or quality enough to say!
