S/A Results Question

Dear Ladies,

The fella gave his semen sample on Thursday morning for testing. My doctor's MA told me on Friday that it would take about a week for her to post the results online; that the RE needs to review them first. This is making me really irritated, because it's the last result we have to arrive. And because it's my understanding that the semen is analyzed immediately after he gives the sample. It makes me feel stabby that they withhold results from us.

How long did you all wait for your husbands' semen analysis results to come in? Am I over-reacting?

I would call and try to get a nurse to give you results...yeah those are done the same day and frankly a week is awful. My re told me his nurse always knows the results before him tells his patients and if they are abnormal he calls or talks to them in the office more in depth . He said that way his patients aren't dying from anxiety:) my dr is a hoot though...and gives his cell phone to you! So I got lucky there:)

It occurred to me: They won't post results unless the results are normal, so I'm wondering if the S/A isn't so great, and they're waiting until our appointment on Thursday to talk more with us about it. Just seems ridiculous. But I don't want to wait until Thursday. They can give me the results now! haha

I think I will call again today...

Yeah I would call:) I'm not the most patient person either. Now that I think about it, they probably tell me , so I will quit bugging them! Lol

TWO DAYS?! Wow. That seems more appropriate. I'm waiting for her to call back. And she better call back, or I'm gonna become an infertil-zilla! hahaha

We didn't get results for two weeks. I'd rather wait a longer for proper results than something rushed, quite honestly.

I just got the result - she finally called back. I told her she was an angel for calling me and talking with me about the results. It's mostly good news, though morphology is a low, so we're moving ahead with a medicated IUI with selected sperm. Yay!

Yay is right:) knew the nurse would help they usually do! Hopefully this is our month..wishing you lots of luck and love! Waiting to get positive on opk so can do u/s...if I don't go in Friday anyways..when are you doing the iui?

We start 5mg Femara with injectables and IUI next cycle, in January. 

Right now, I am waiting to O, too - but we're trying naturally this cycle, unless RE agrees to do an IUI this cycle, unmedicated. We meet with her Thursday, so we will see. 

Good luck - I hope you O soon. Are you doing an IUI this cycle??

I am glad you got results, because they have ot test semen within about an hour of ejaculation as the guys start dying after that, being exposed. So anything beyond a day or two, is pure red tape.

No did clomid day 5-9 and then hsg..now waiting for the opk, then they are gonna do u/s to check follicles, then I do trigger shot...then day 21 blood work and progesterone suppositories. Whew:-) :-) lol hopefully the hsg does the trick for us and we both get bfp:-) :-)
