Re: **2IF Grad Check-In**
I am 21 weeks. And it is soooo surreal to be so far up the due date list above. We had a belated 20 week appt on Friday, and got an unexpected ultrasound which was nice. This baby is so wiggly, awesome to see her moving around so much. Cervix was a good length, and fluids looked good. OB gave me some advice (Colace and caffeinated coffee) on dealing with constipation, which seems to be helping, thank God. Poor DH had to hear the gory details. We found out I'm being induced at 39 weeks if not sooner, based on risks due to my age. Next appt will be the glucose test. Fingers crossed! Feeling pretty good, figured out (thanks google) how to alleviate the bad hip pain I was having at night, so I'm sleeping pretty good for a change and feeling good in general.
QOTW: We love several Christmas movies (A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful Life to name a couple), which we have to watch every year. DS managed to get through the "tongue on the flagpole" scene of A Christmas Story without getting freaked out this year! We don't go every year, but we love Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo, plus we love to go to a couple of municipal tree lighting events around here. We also like to drive around and see the lighted up and decorated houses in the area.

I'm 17 weeks tomorrow
A/S is 1/2/14. I had my early glucose test last week and passed, so I test again at 28 weeks. Feeling pretty great. No real complaints or issues besides a million middle of the night potty breaks, but that comes with the territory.
Christmas traditions: we try to go to either the lights at the zoo or the light show in a nearby town. I'm starting a new tradition this year with DS. On Christmas Eve he is getting a Christmas Eve gift box to open and it's going to have new Jammies, Christmas books and Christmas movies/show dvd's and snacks to eat while watching the DVDs (popcorn, hot chocolate, fruit snacks etc.)
1. How many weeks along are you? 20.5 weeks today
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? None. Still waiting to hear the results of my panorama blood test.
3. How are you feeling lately? Well after the A/S from hell, I've been doing a lot of research per my OB's request (from reputable sources) and have found that one marker, specifically nuchal fold, is not an accurate indicator of down syndrome. In fact, one study suggests it only increases the chance to 3%. I'm feeling pretty optimistic that everything will be okay, but still get pangs of nervousness and panic when I stop and think about it.
Baby has been kicking like crazy. I love it!
4. QOTW: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions this time of year (movies, activities, foods, etc.)? We love watching Christmas movies - Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, Polar Express, Family Stone, Love Actually. The house is completely decked out in decorations and we listen to Christmas all day long (a local station plays Christmas music 24/7 from Thanksgiving until Christmas Day). Every year we go to out with DH's family for a nice dinner and then a big screen showing of "It's a Wonderful Life" (all-time favorite!). Next year, DH and I want to start the tradition of taking DD to "The Nutcracker." She's still little, so I don't know if she'll try appreciate it this year (enough to cover the $75 cost for each ticket), but next year it'll be nice to leave the baby with my mom and just have a date with the 3 of us.

2IF issues
QOTW: My favorite tradition is probably decorating the tree or waking up on Christmas morning. I love having a cup of hot chocolate in front of the fire, listening to Christmas music and opening gifts. I'm the corny one who likes the giving more than the receiving.
We have a lot of holiday things in our area that we try to do (train displays, lights, ice sculptures, etc). I also really like that we stay home for Christmas day now and have been starting our own family traditions (no family nearby so we used to travel and stay with them for Christmas day). Christmas Eve we also do PJs and a book for DS, and we have been counting down with advent calendars. Love Actually is my favorite holiday movie, and it is fun to show DS Rudolph, Frosty, etc--the movies I remember from my childhood. Having a few days off is nice too, especially this year!

It's triplets!!
I will be 35 weeks on Thursday and still hanging in there. As much as I know this little girl needs to stay put and keep growing for just a bit longer, I am SOOOOO ready to evict her! I'm ready to trade in snuggles for kicks in the ribs
I did have an appointment today and came away feeling a little frustrated. Glad DH was there and we asked more questions about the previa and C-section before my OB could run in and run out. It seems that he either forgot (or didn't check my records) to know that I was diagnosed with complete previa 5 weeks ago after our spotting incident and that it wasn't just partial anymore. I also asked him if I needed another u/s next week to check the status of it again (he had mentioned this in a past appointment) and he was like "oh yeah, make sure you schedule a u/s for next week." Glad I asked!!!! Lastly, he was very casual about scheduling the C-section and seemed unconcerned that we hadn't really thought about this yet. Not that it matters if we scheduled it 2 weeks ago or today, but again, it just seems like he was really out of the loop and this was the first time I've been really unimpressed with him.
AND, now the goal is 39 weeks instead of 38....so unless baby girl comes before that it is looking like D-day will be on/around 1/16. Sorry for the vent. Guess I'm just really frustrated....and tired....and feel like I've gotten a different story every time over the last several visits. Blah!
QOTW: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions this time of year (movies, activities, foods, etc.)?
I absolutely love Christmas. Bummed I won't see my family, but DH's dad, stepmom and one his brothers will be here. Guess that means I get to do all of the cooking and cleaning On a more positive note, we love to drive around and look at lights, watch all the holiday movies, and we do elf on the shelf. I typically do a lot of baking as well, but just don't have the time/energy this year. We always read the night before Christmas on X-mas Eve and last year we did the X-mas Eve box (pjs, movie, hot cocoa) and will do it again this year for DD. We typically try to go visit Santa as well, but not sure if we'll have time this year.
