Need your suggestions

ok ladies, I need your help please. Here is the situation: my MIL is going in for a hip replacement on Wednesday. Supposedly she will only have to stay in the hospital one night. She is majorly worried about this surgery and has been making herself crazy over it for months but she can't even walk anymore the pain is so bad. 

We are going to stop by tomorrow so she can visit with Ava for a bit and I'd like to take her something to cheer her up and/or stuff to help with her recovery. Something to pass time maybe while she's laying in bed. Any suggestions? I thought of magazines but she subscribes to so many magazines already that I'm not sure what to get her that she doesn't already have. She has a kindle with like 1000 books on it already too so books are out as well. 

If you can think of anything, I would greatly appreciate it

Does she like cross words or any type of games? Maybe a book of puzzles will help her pass the time. Also what about movie. I think most rooms have DVD players.

Maybe a beginners knitting or crocheting kit if she doesn't already do one of these things? Who knows, if she gets "hooked" (see what I did there?) maybe you will even get some nice handmade hats and sweaters for Ava out if it in the future

thanks everyone! I knew I could count on you to come up with something good I love the idea of the manicure set, new jammies, and various types of puzzle books! She used to scrapbook but she doesn't anymore and I don't think she knits or crochets but I might get her a beginners kit cause you never know - she may like it.
