How ready are you for Christmas?

I thought I was doing good, but then Christmas crept up on me! I still have some shopping for about 4 family members and I have to go grocery shopping. I also have to buy a few table decorations since we are hosting. AND I still have to take DS to see santa.....

Re: How ready are you for Christmas?

  • If the weather will cooperate and UPS will deliver all of my goodies, I'm pretty set. I actually just finished ordering last minute stuff. We still have to buy for my FIL though. Nothing is wrapped though!!
  • Almost done shopping and baking.  Havent even started wrapping.  Need to menu plan, but I did buy my ham yesterday and scheduled lasagna making night for the 23rd.

  • I still haven't gotten my youngest sister a gift...oops. I did mostly online shopping this year and it was so nice especially for DS's gifts. I still have to finalize my Christmas menu so I know I have everything. Otherwise, I'm ready for the holiday, except maybe going to two different events at the ILs.

I am not ready. We have some gifts for the girls, but nothing is wrapped and I need to put together a play kitchen. My inlaws are/aren't/might be/want to/are trying to/may or may not depending on the weather, coming for Christmas and the uncertainty is driving me fucking insane, but that's how their family operates. I am a planner, I need to know one way or the other because I also have parents that would like to see us for Christmas but I can't make any plans with them because the ILs can't make a fucking decision. I also can't plan my grocery trip which is really pissing me off. And sorry that turned into a long-winded rant.

ETA: I still need to buy stocking stuffers, and gifts for my parents.

  • Shopping is done, nothing wrapped. I'm not hosting eve or day so that's pretty awesome. I feel good about it this year.
  • I am 10% done.  That 10% is decorating.  I have done no shopping, no planning, no baking, nothing.

I have this week off and tonight is the company Christmas party where we will get our bonus checks (so I will know how much $$ I can spend) so I will start my shopping tomorrow.

  • Totally ready. Let's get this done!

  • I'm DONE gift-wise except for maybe getting a couple small things for DS and I need to get something for his daycare provider (she's been the hardest one! I want something thoughtful and I'm really struggling).

I am behind with sending Xmas cards out :(

    I have wrapped most gifts

Overall evaluation: I'm far more ahead than I've been any previous year.  I'm usually a very last minute person when it comes to Xmas

  • I am done except for wrapping the kids' gifts at the end of this week. I like doing it close to Christmas or it feels like a chore.

Everything is on the way and will be delivered this week. I expect to wrap every night as it comes in. I plan to shop for my own gifts Friday (DH gives horrible gifts).

  • Not ready.

I started freaking out on 12/5. Sure enough by the time a gift idea would occur to me, the coupon had expired or the item was sold out online. We are paying an arm and a leg for expedited shipping on some stuff because it's too hard to think of something else (except poor DH will get his post Xmas because I missed the cut off by 2 fucking days).

Plus I'm sick and DD is sick and I had hoped to avoid getting trampled at the mall except I will have to after all because there are still like 3 people on the list who are gonna get stuck with a clearance bin sweater or something I'll have to cough on to claim dibs.

Last night I stayed up late wrapping some stuff that arrived because the pile was making me feel antsy.

    Tl;dr: not ready.

  • I need to buy something for the ILs (probably a picture frame and some printed photos).

I am waiting on DD's last gift to be delivered and then I just have to wrap that and the two Santa gifts.

  • Have one more swap gift to get, but it's not until January, so I have time.

@whocanitbenow I am laughing at your name change!
  • I am always ready for Christmas.
  • Maybe half done? I have to finish a parcel and mail it out east today for my parents and little brother. ILs here are done, kids are done but not wrapped, still need to shop for h, dogs, h's sister and FI, and charity gift. I can't believe Christmas is next week already. Really snuck up fast this year!

  • I need to pick up a couple gift cards and wrap 1 more present and I'll be done, minus cooking for all the various parties we have to go to.

  • We finished shopping this weekend but I haven't wrapped anything yet or even purchased wrapping materials. I haven't mailed my Christmas cards yet either. Oops!
  • I am not ready at ALL. I was going to bake this weekend but Reese and I both have colds--so that will have to wait until tomorrow.

I THINK all of our gifts are bought--for the most part. (minus a few gift cards) I have to wrap them all though (not looking forward too)

  • I am mostly done.  Things got easier when I decided not to do cards this year--I ran out of time and didn't want to rush, so screw it.  Shopping is done.  I have a little bit of wrapping left.  We are going to be OOT for Christmas, so Santa is coming on the 23rd.
  • Well, I think we're about 80% done. We still have to put up our tiny tree and get things wrapped (plus some of the things are still coming in). However, I personally only have to shop for 2 people now and both of them are Amazon gift cards. So, I have a pretty easy list left.

  • We have done zero things. No presents, no decorations. Nothing.
  • After a couple hours of online shopping today I am suddenly much more ready for Christmas!

I still have all my Christmas shopping to do. Bleh. Just got our Christmas cards done today, so those will get mailed out tomorrow. Our tree has been up a few weeks now as well as our other decorations in the house and the lights outside (im very surprised that stuff got done this early on, lol!).

Idk. Maybe its bc this is DS's ffirst christmas, but im super stressed this year. I usually never stress about holiday stuff, but this year im a nutcase. I need to start doing all this shit earlier, GD IT!

Eta...I believe we're taking DS to see Santa this weekend. I told DH we should try to bang out all of our shopping as well so everything will be done by this weekend.

I love Amazon... I wouldnt be even close to ready if not for them and doing the majority of my shopping online this year.  I am taking advantage of the Prime free trial and have been receiving packages all week at work... the guy downstairs in reception is probably getting annoyed ...bahaha
