Cooking/baking Question

I bought some half & half yesterday to use in a soup I plan to make this week. It has a sell by date of Dec 17 (tomorrow) - how long will it keep? I ask because I planned on making sugar cookies on Saturday & the icing taking a 1/4 of a cup and I'd rather not buy a whole other quart of half and half just for that. Will it keep until Saturday? Can I/should I freeze it to use? TIA!

Thanks @aimee223! I will probably freeze the amount I need for cookies just to be safe!

It should last for a bit longer like the other responders said, because the fat content is so high.  The more fat milk has in it, the longer it lasts!
