Vivian, nickname Livie?

Can Livie be a nickname for Vivian?  I know Olivia is normally used as the full name to Livie, but I like Vivian better and I think Livie is a cute nickname... but does this even go together whatsoever?

I wouldn't, just because the L doesn't make sense. I would assume her full name was Olivia if I heard the nn.

Why not Vivi? Very similar in sound and a well known nn for Vivian.

I mean, you can use the nickname Jake if you want -- but it doesn't make sense with the name at all. Vivian nicknames are usually Vivi, Viv, or V, in my experience.

Livie would be for Olivia or Livia.

You can use anything you want, but if you want it to be intuitive, Vivi would be for Vivian and Livie would be for Olivia or Livia.  I don't see how Livie is that much cuter than Vivi.

NN don't have to go with a name. But if you wanted it to be intuitive this is not.

I figured it was probably a stretch/wouldn't make sense. I see it now too... I posted this question while sleep deprived, so that's my excuse! Ha! :-)

Yeah, I think it's too much of a stretch... but I'd also guess considering how MANY Olivias there are out there right now that you wouldn't want to do that anyway. Vivi is a great nickname for Vivian. One of my friends has a Vivian and we call her Vivi all the time (love the name Vivian tho!)
