Recommendations on crib mattresses?

Hi Mommies!

I guess this question would be more for second time moms or expectant mommies who already have got a crib mattress...but I feel like I am making this more complicated than it needs to be lol!

In my baby care class they stated that newborns need a firm mattress to sleep on, originally I was thinking I wanted something soft and comfortable for my baby to sleep on and now I'm thinking otherwise! I want a firm mattress that is safe for her but also not something so hard it's like a rock! I want her to be able to sleep comfortable...

 

Any of you have any recommendations on crib mattresses? I'm curious to see what other mommies are going with! Thanks in advance!

We have a serta. Dd sleeps great. I was told to look at mattresses with interlocking coils so that when lo starts standing and jumping in bed they don't ruin the mattress.

Anyone have any advice on whether to get a coil spring mattress or a soy bean foam matress for baby. I'm a FTM.
