cuteness and functionality. cost and environmental/health reasons make me happy too. plus it give me a reason to get on this board and stalk you
You know how I said I always think "Me too!" for everything you say? I realized that I really like my prefolds, better than even my workhorses. Is your badge because you like prefolds? I don't remember the exact reasoning for it.
They are adorable. No leaks. Ever. The savings. They don't smell gross like Sposies. (I used to think they smelled good.) They must be more comfy then Sposies. I couldn't imagine wearing Sposies my self. healthier for baby and the environment.

I started using mama cloth and it totally confirmed the choice to CD for me. I think DS likes them better too because he doesn't fuss as soon as he's dirty like he did in sposies. I am surprised that they do smell though. I thought EBF poop wasn't supposed to smell? It's not like a dirty poopy smell like my niece's diapers, but actually kind of a sweet smell maybe? I assume that's normal but I don't know why, but I thought they weren't supposed to smell at all.

It usually smells like breast milk.
My favorite part about CDing is the cute factor, followed by a close second of environmental factors.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
speaking of the cute factor, my friend just posted a pic of her little 3 month old in babylegs on fb, and I can see she had a dirty diaper on because you can see that dark poo color through the sposie leg gussets. The baby is flippin' adorable, but all i can see is her diaper. Had she been wearing cloth, I never would have known

umm, eww
right? i mean, it's not overly obvious, and I'm probably the only freak checking out the baby's diaper instead of her adorable face, but...yeah.
My friend's daughter wore a dress and babylegs at her birthday party, and I couldn't help but think how much cuter it would be with a CD peeking out from under her dress than the disposable. They're just not cute, even when you can't tell they're poopy.

Omg, that made me gag.
You should have been an awesome friend and pointed it out in the comments. Lmao.

No real experience yet as LO won't be here until March, but they are way cuter than disposable. Also, I'm not a fan of throwing my money in the trashcan.
Savings! Even buying new diapers occasionally I've saved a lot of money. Plus I've sold off stuff that I didn't like. Another bonus reason is my kids are super skinny. I had trouble keeping pants up on L when she was a baby (we didn't cd her). I've never had that problem with J, and he is actually smaller than she was.
I love not being able to truly "run out". Your just a load of laundry away from a fresh stack of clean diapers!
This was handy when the weather was bad and decided to stay at my parents. My mom had watched him all day so we had a decent # of diapers. But were able to run a load and have clean ones for the next day! Easy! No running to the store.
I like that they seem(ed) so comfy on her. I like that DD potty trained at 2 yrs old (which may/may not be related to CD's, but I suspect it was a factor). I love the cuteness. I like not throwing something away and paying for a new one every time a diaper gets dirty or wet. That was especially a big thing when DD was a newborn. She would pretty frequently poop on 2-3 diapers within 5 minutes on the changing table. If I had to pay for each of those I would have been a little sad, but as it was, I just chucked them in the pail for the next load. I like that her bum gets to breathe by putting her in wool or fleece covers. I like that, for the whole summer when she was ~1 yr old, we never put shorts on her at home, but she didn't look yucky in a paper diaper. She'd wear little t-shirts and fleece soakers and looked adorable at home and playing in the yard. I like that I have all the diapers I need for our next baby, and that I also get to lend our newborn set to a friend who's due 3 months before I am.

They're cute and addictive. I'm so glad I committed to cloth. I don't miss buying $40 boxes of sposies. I'm going to drop off like 4 opened boxes at my friends house next Tuesday. Good riddance! Lol
The green factor, when she smears poop on the clean diaper I was planning on putting on her I don't cringe and think of wasted money. Whenever she goes to the hospital I put her in sposies because they want her in them so they can weight them and all that. Doesn't even take a full hour and boom, she breaks out like crazy. It makes me a sad mommy as soon as we get to go home I always put her back in cloth with some CJ's and it clears right up. Hubby loves CD so much. The longer we CD the more he loves it. The fluffy butt is hard to resist.
Dh likes that cd don't tear on him when he's trying to put the diaper on. We both like not having to spend money on sposies and wipes. I keep thinking that when ds reaches the point where he learns he has legs and they are great for standing on the cd will cushion his falls more than the sposies (is that true?) I love that I haven't had to smother his bottom with diaper rash creams constantly. I also figure we don't wear underwear made of paper so why should he.

I love that most of my favorite CD-safe creams are made of food-grade ingredients. Not that I let DS eat them, but he's a curious kid right now and likes to dig around and put everything in his mouth. He ate a little bit of Grovia Magic Stick that I had in his swim bag once. Which thankfully was a new stick that I had only used on his freshly showered bottom. But I was also glad I didn't have to call poison control after that episode.
My favorite thing is that cloth diapers don't smell like chemicals, and that I don't have to worry about our baby's squishy bits being in contact with what's in them.
My favorite thing? I haven't spent a single dollar on diapers or wipes since LO was born. In fact, I've made some money since I sold some! I know I will spend a bit more on things (going to be getting a sprayer soon, and will need to buy some more creams, maybe some more inserts) but basically we're covered for the rest of her diapering days, and any future kids too.
I also love not having a "maintenance" thing to buy repeatedly - it must be such a pain to always be buying more disposables and wipes all the time.
